It is a medium dark wine with a savory nose, showing violets, licorice, forest floor and a touch of cardamom. The palate is spicy, with black pepper and herbs joining the black berry profile. Nice red for fall. Dark cherries, slight herbs, little cola, inky, nice mouthful, good balance and weight, some leather. My hunch is this def needs some air and time on the shelf. Solid 91+ and the potential to move up. But really it’s the price that shakes this tree, 12.99 WTSO. — 7 years ago

July 2, 2020. Dinner w/ Jack D & KK. KK brought this, we had tasted at the vineyard May 2019. Rich, full bodied Recioto. Plum, raisin fruit, pleasantly sweet. Excellent dessert wine, would be lovely as aperitif w/ cheese plate. Will definitely visit this vineyard again. The Amarone and valpolicella Ripasso were also excellent. — 5 years ago
