Unlike any other txakoli I've had. Barely effervescent. The riesling makes it three dimensional, richer and more complex - with the same stoney-salty seaside effect still there in the finish. — 9 years ago

Early test of a beer I will most certainly be aging! Barley Maw! Dip some carrot cake in Ethiopian coffee and you will be getting close on the nose. The entire bouquet is a caramelized, myrrh version of that in an oiled, leather bag; although there is a doughy life to it that evokes freshly washed hair, with whiffs of Madagascar vanilla. Heavy coffee oils, bitter chocolate, smoked leather, tar, burnt caramel, black mushroom, rattan, blackened marshmallow, allspice, graham spice and dark tobaccos finishing briny. A seaside stroll at night through foamy pools. Can't wait to see how she ages! — 9 years ago

More texture than Amphibolite, "Sur Lie" as usual gives the wine more texture and complexity - a touch of seaside notes and citrus - a great value for money 😉 — 10 years ago

Gorgeous notes of floral, minerality and seaside in the nose. Smooth smooth clean but complex nuance on the palette. In love with how this takes us back. — 10 years ago
2005 in 3 liter. Perhaps close to its peak; layered, evolving plum and berries, some dried. Some spice and wind-blown seaside plants. Long. #delicious and perfect with the 14-pound lobster @ridgevineyards — 10 years ago
2008 Vintage, Nose with hints of the seaside at low tide, gravel and some oak. Taste of butter, slightly oily with a distinct taste of citrus and seaweed. Great Chablis and well worth the price. Actually a very reasonable PRemier Cru @ 230 NOK — 11 years ago
