This wine amazed me, I’ve had it before and it’s never shown this well, maybe just hitting it’s stride? Beautiful perfumed floral nose ( never thought I would say that about a Dunn), exquisite balance, the fruit is slightly sweet, the tannins are fully integrated and refined, with just the right amount of acid in the finish. I would never guess mountain fruit or let alone Dunn if tasted blind. Can’t wait to try it again in a couple of years. — 8 years ago

Great wine before being a great Champagne ! Can even drink the day after when bubbles are gone! Not that chances are very high you won't finish it same day. — 9 years ago
Really not much to say here except holy crap this is good. Leather, bit of game, dark almost stewed fruits, cranberry. The tannins are pure silk — 10 years ago
Exceptionally wonderful to drink. Went perfect with the dry aged Liberty farms duck breast at Solage in Calistoga. A very fruity smelling drink that blends the best of coastal Pinot grapes. I would want a faucet installed in my house with this stuff coming out of it when I'm thirsty. — 10 years ago
53 years in waiting for this group... What can I say. Started off much younger than the label would say.. Like the old grand dame of St Estephe.. Nice fruit, wonderful nose, and a pleasant finish to round out a great bottle of wine from a era gone by. Shared with friends like it should be. Looking forward to 2015 to do it all again. — 11 years ago
Elegance pure, very Ladylike, salty, straight ahead taste. I would say, drink it now. — 12 years ago
Been trying red blends when out to dinner. #continuedsuccess — 12 years ago
Always fun to try them when they’re fresh. The 2017 Zinfandel is bursting with capricious blue, black and red fruits with baking spices and a kiss of vanilla. In fact, this smells a bit like a fresh sleeve of blueberry fig newtons. Try it and tell me I’m wrong. As usual, these will be more interesting after a few years in the cellar. — 7 years ago
When I started to get into wine, I loved Silver Oak. Haven't bought it for years but I still have some older bottles remaining in my cellar. They haven't impressed me for years now....but I'll pull one from my stash every now and then, and sadly nowhere as good as what I thought 15+ yrs ago when I started getting into wine. — 9 years ago

The reason I fell in love with wine, popped my cherry or grape I should say. I was 19 and took this from my fathers stash, definitely got in trouble but it was worth it! — 9 years ago
This wine needed about 3 hours to release. Initially tight with uncomfortable medicinal nose which then totally dissipated. Drinking now next day and you get the age of fully integrated but not fading tannins. Nose has a delightful dark fruit and smokiness. Great fit of nose and taste, meaning - when tastes after smelling the experience is consistent and not jolting. I think the color purple in a subdued way. Very nice. Memo to self: decant and watch for sediment, and enjoy three hours later. — 10 years ago
Needed decanting as it was hard as nails when first opened. Great balance of fruit and acidity with tannins quite pronounced. Beautiful with assorted pastas at Collichio & Sons — 11 years ago
In magnum and its krug. No need to say more. — 11 years ago

Getting on, expected a touch more for the vintage - so coveted when I got in the trade in the '70's. Still lovely and persistent as always. — 12 years ago
Pleasant surprise. Great complexity, tons of flavor. Want to try again when I'm not in a big group. — 13 years ago
Big. Rich. Balanced. Young. Needs more time. I would say wait until it’s 15. — 8 years ago
Whee! Felt savory when the half bottle was first poured. Then graphite. Then mushroomy. Really enjoyable! — 9 years ago
This is a solid wine...the kind I would want to always have on hand for when friends come over and we are looking for a casual yet delicious selection. Nice leather, spice, black soil, and dark fruits on the nose. On the palate there is blackberry cobbler, blackberry jam, plums, and baking spices. — 9 years ago

I can't help but smile when I drink this scrumptious rosé champagne. — 9 years ago
I have to say that I didn't want this bottle to end. Really enjoyed it. — 10 years ago
Deep in its spice blanket but has very grown up and starting to intergrate tannins. Wonderful spiced fruit and not heavily jammy. great for the colder months when i want a tummy hug with some braised beef or cheese. — 10 years ago
This was the groups WOTN against some pretty stiff competition. 59 Leroy GE, 82 LMHB, 82 Pichon Lalande & 80 La Mouline.
This is a very underrated vintage for LaTache as it is still showing tight and firm when 1st opened but really starts opening up after 30 min of air. Very aromatic and complex with red fruits, Asian spice, dried rose petal, game bird displaying power with elegance and finesse. Always a treat to drink a fully mature LaTache that is just reaching its peak drinking window. — 11 years ago
What can you say, classic Reims crisp and tart. This NV is as consistent as they come. — 12 years ago
Can't say enough about this wine awesome — 12 years ago

Not my favorite vintage of Dominus but paired well when served blind with the 00 Lynch Bages showing Bordeaux like notes of red & black fruits, cassis, earth, cedar & leather that was not as rich & aromatic as the LB. — 7 years ago
