Smoke and fruit on the nose, powerful tannins and a long finish. I had this at Benvenuto Brunello and am just now going through my notes. I will look for this when it arrives. — 11 years ago

Clear deep purple with clean pronounced aromas of plums, cherries, rose and spice. Dry with well balanced acidity, lovely smooth tannins and a medium bodied, medium finish. Complex flavours of black fruits make this an excellent, complex wine. — 7 years ago
Earth and fruit combined. Striking nose of toasty spices, anise and cocoa. But had enough fruit on the palette to balance out. Dark berry, bramble. Medium tannins and lingered with espresso. I can see why this grape is good with gamier proteins — 7 years ago
Can't go wrong with a Chiarello wine when at Bottega in Yountville - pairs well with Italian but stands alone as well. Looking forward to 2 bottles of '05 that we have at home! — 8 years ago
