2011, MastroJanni, Rosso Di Montalcino, Montalcino, Sangiovese. Ruby with a wide garnet rim. Black fruit and red fruit, with violets, pepper, anise and wet leather. Finishes with mushroom and wet clay. Med plus acid and tannins; medium alcohol. Really well balanced with layers of fruit and savory flavors. Good pair with Korean short ribs. — 11 years ago

Ageing in the bottle gives this a real creamy note and softens the minerality. Lovely. — 11 years ago
Poor man's Brunello. Great value! — 11 years ago
Beautiful golden color with citrus, white peach and mineral aromas. Medium, rich and almost juicy mouth feel. Bright acidity with notes if citrus and clean stone. Long, clean, mineral filled finish. — 11 years ago
Still strutting its stuff with some earthy dark cherry and moderate oak notes. Tannic grip still apparent with the cherry. Great stuff! — 11 years ago

Much more delicious than I dared imagine, with a mid-palate buzzing with unexpected rich notes of chamomile & a feeling of deep shade on a sunny day, what a killer quaff at an easy price! — 10 years ago
