Had very tough competition on the table but I knew many of my guests had never tried. A powerful wine balanced by its acidity. A great floral nose that becomes stone and orchard fruits in the mouth .
A baby and like many other bottles on the table , super balanced. Served it blind and all participants enjoyed but laughed at the current market price — 9 months ago
Got from Maison for $40 - soooo good — 3 years ago
Peppery funk. Delicious. — 7 years ago
A bit reddish golden color; peach and apple on the move with hint red gooseberry; some tannins. Great surprise for Italian sparkling. — 7 years ago
First time trying the '15s and it's as great as always. This is definitely a decent amount more brawny and ripe than the '14s but still identifiable as a Lapierre wine. That said, I'm still not the biggest fan of most of these '15's so far, they are too hot and ripe and don't really fit the profile of what I want from most Beaujolais. This is still pretty good on its own merits though. Day 1 it was closed and not giving up very much but on this morning, Day 2, it's come around and opened up quite a bit. Ripe, juicy strawberry and raspberry red fruit, tart rhubarb, wild violet, smoky gravel minerality, with a nice briny, almost gamey salinity underscoring things a bit. Nice medium (+) acid, medium (-) body with a great, soft texture. Just a touch of fine, supple tannic grip. There a bit of brett and VA but they're in balance rather than being a faulty distraction; the VA helps give a little extra lift, if anything. Will try another bottle after some more time has passed because even though it's good now it honestly still needs to come together a bit more; it seemed almost still slightly bottle shocked when I first opened it yesterday. If you're opening one soon I'd recommend giving it a little air to let it unfurl. — 7 years ago
The “V.S. Caterina” is a single vineyard located in the southern most portion of the Lazzarito MGA, in Serralunga d’Alba. This is considered a monopole of sorts since Guido Porro is the sole producer from this vineyard. Geographically speaking, the holdings are ideal with great southwestern exposure, located close to the village of Lazzarito and right next to Vietti’s holdings.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over a period that lasted a couple of hours. The 2015 pours a bright, reflective ruby color with some hits of garnet towards the rim and a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears and no signs of sediment. On the nose, ripe cherries, strawberries, loads of roses, dried green herbs, and gravely earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. Superb balance. I didn’t buy many 2015’s from Barolo or Barbaresco because I didn’t really like them on release and they didn’t seem to have structure to carry the day. And while the latter may yet be true for extended aging, the 2015’s have been strutting their stuff over the last year, showing off all their solar glory. Drink now and over the next 7 years with ease. — 5 months ago
Great value! Would buy again. From LCBO — 10 months ago
Took a long time to open up. Big tannins but overall a superb bottle — 4 years ago
Another wonderful Merlot. Mountain wines are known for beautiful dark color, intense aromatics and full bodied flavors. This Howell Mountain wine does not disappoint. Beautiful ruby red color and great aromas of blue fruit, cedar and a little earthiness. The tannins on this young wine are very apparent but seem to integrate nicely with the intense flavors of blueberries and baking spices while in your mouth. I am sure this wine will improve with age but it drinks very well today. — 6 years ago
Bouquet of coffee, great complexity of berries and earth and tannins. Time for another case. — 7 years ago
Delicious Sangiovese from Montepulciano. Lots of tart cherry and some leather on the pallet. Nice long tannic finish. — 6 months ago
Az. Agri. S. Cristina Lugana DOC 2020: Great balance. Beautiful acidity. Clean refreshing taste. Lots of minerals & lemon and a perfectly long, savory finish. This was an excellent white wine (honestly one of my most favorites of this Italian trip so far); a perfect way to enjoy our last dinner in Bellaria! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago
Never had rosso de montepulciano, I never knew this was a different region then montepulciano. Wife picked this up and it is very good. I got an education from a Tuscan friend about the region I will keep an eye out for rosso de montepulciano wines. — 5 years ago

Wonderfully balanced but mature. Wine from our wedding ten years ago. Getting close to its peak now. Strawberries, black cherries; Provence herbs, hint of leather on the nose. Fruit is starting to reach peak expression. Long finish. — 5 months ago
