A nice Rusty Garnett with nice rim variation.
The nose tells me there's some candied cherry strawberry, potpourri, anise and tar.
The pallatte stays a little lighter than other nebbiolos(true to style-the drink of Queens) but to truly enjoy, enjoy some food with it and decant this thing-the tannins are not joking around. A lovely wine. — 8 years ago
Dense and concentrated for budget Bordeaux. Seven years old but a lot of life left in it. Heavier focus on Cab Franc yields bigger funk at first. An hour in the funk dials down to a more spicy, black pepper quality. Mid palate fruit before rusty, dusty, Brett-y tannins dominate the finish. Tremendous with duck confit appetizer and hangar steak entree. — 9 years ago
Second wine of progressive climate-concious second growth of the left bank; Dark ruby with clear 10-year aging rusty tones; the most dominant on the nose is a exciting minerality with dark red fruits, spices, and oak in the background; taste is silky sweet and very well balanced and with a long elegant finish. Very nice wine that is probably not too many years away from its peak. — 9 years ago
This looked dead - muddy and rusty...but totally different on the palate. Bright red currants, so amazing, and softened nicely the longer it was open... — 10 years ago
Dense. Tight as a nail. Brooding, spherical. — 11 years ago
This has an amazing nose that is a strange mix of rather sharp furniture polish and the taste that you get when mixing up a couple of different flavour opal fruits (star bursts to you youts) incredibly pronounced, sharp tropical fruits (and nail polish), skittles and strawberry concentrate.
Palate is less expressive but has some wonderful green apple skin, quince, good length, very lovely stuff. — 11 years ago

One of my favorite Pinot towns. Masculin styled. Big cassis, rusty nail notes. — 12 years ago
1995 vintage. Nail polish removal smell. Beautiful golden color with orange hues. Dried raisins, delicate flavor with very good acidity. Not a Yquem that blows you away, rather delicate, feminin, finesse rather than power. Misses weight; good burn. — 8 years ago

Nice body with a little spice and full rusty flavor on finish — 10 years ago
Dark fruit balanced through old oak showing light spice on the nose encouraging thought to nail a specific note but is remaining a bit of an enigma in my rock rattled head after a good day enhanced by 75 MPH Harley induced wind and the brilliance of Bose and an iPhone. Ok, back to the wine, it touches, lightly grabs spreading its dark berry mini-burst in a layered earth touched tannin slow ride making magic with some of Chapel Hill's Bin 54's straight up amazing goodness (in this case very rare filet mignon, garlic tinged green beans and almond slivers; my go to steak spot in NC). Damn, this is all so right-on! Cheers! — 10 years ago
Dark burgundy in color, smell of nail polish, blue berry, raisin, preserved cabbage, date, dried fig, round tannin and long finish. Full body. — 11 years ago
Very good red (enjoyed in Charlottesville, VA) — 11 years ago
A bit rusty when first opened but an hour later it was magic — 11 years ago

Vibrant rusty-red colour, slightly brown on the ridges from aging. Pronounced legs. Intense nose of dark cherries and dried plum with chocolate and wood. Medium acidity, strong yet smooth tannins, dark cherries, big mouth-feel and long-lasting finish, fantastic wine! — 8 years ago
The 2006 Rusty Shed Chardonnay is a blend of four blocks of Chardonnay on the Flat Rock Property. Grapes are hand picked and hand sorted before whole bunch pressing takes place. It was then cold settled in stainless steel, 100% barrel fermented and left on the lees for 10 months. Wild and commercial yeasts were used for primary fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the natural acidity. The result?
Beautiful example of a mid to full bodied Chardonnay with butter, vanilla, apples and light spice on the palate. A lot of flavour and elegance at this price point. Sampled this 2006 in 2017 but this should sit well and perhaps develop more for a few more years. Best part? It's from Niagara! Loved it!

Was raisiny on the nose and I assumed it was oxidised. Surprisingly tasted much fresher with cedar, dark fruits, meaty and the controversial nail polish Wendouree is known for, with only a slight raisin flavour on the finish. My guess is this wasn't stored in the greatest of conditions. — 10 years ago
Very expressive nose displaying mature and complex aromas of prunes, dry figs, peanuts, almonds, caramel, toffee, nail varnish remover and hints of vanilla. It is bone-dry in the mouth with a medium+ body and pronounced elegant and tasty flavours. The alcohol is well-integrated and the finish is very persistent. — 10 years ago
Very good rully. At rusty's with Rusty, Audrey, and Elissa. Pre dinner. — 10 years ago
Rusty color. Slight oxidation. Solid fruit and acid. Drinks light like a white but has notes of light reds like gamay or Pinot. Classic bressan. Weird and delicious. — 11 years ago
No question this vintage has gotten a little funky, but it fills me with joy to drink a wine like this from California soil. Cranberries, rusty iron, cinnamon, redwood bark, tangy and easy...this wine is screaming out that we're finally a wine region with cool shit to discover. — 13 years ago
