R. López de Heredia

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2002

A softened ruby color. Beautiful balance, everything in harmony. Wet earth, raspberry, cinnamon, a whiff of truffle, intoxicating nose. So much ripe, fresh red fruit on the palate. Such soft tannins, damson plum, a mineral streak running through. Drinking a 15 year old wine for 15th anniversary of diabetes. This is splendid in the moment — 7 years ago

Loved this wine! Easy to drink with a great butter and cream to it. No harsh finish just a really lovely wine. — 8 years ago

Stony Brook Vineyards

The 'J' Viognier Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2014

2014 really crisp considering the Viognier, very light tropical fruits, more mineral. Well done blend. — 8 years ago

Turn on, tune in, and cop out: one for the acid freaks. Peachy top notes with underlying green apple acidity. — 9 years ago

Romanee Tuff by Tommy Ruff Syrah

Unfined, unfiltered 2014 vintage.
Chamaleontic, funky drop.
Nose dominated by black olives in brine, preserved plum, soy sauce, balsamic, black forest fruits, cinnamon, clove, bay leaf.
Elegant palate, tannin in place and refreshing acidity with a good length.
Barossa meets the Rhone.
Amusing, intriguing and delicious.

Olga Raffault

Les Picasses Chinon Cabernet Franc 1985

Not reconditioned and fully mature, this is has a delicate beauty right now. A little fragile, but mostly pure Cab Franc on the nose w/ a very nice silken texture. There's plenty of tannin, but the fruit is running out so drink up! — 9 years ago

Sweet Jesus! Stewed cherry, cassis, smoked charcuterie, leather, with a brooding plum/almost raisin note running under the whole thing. Worth the splurge! — 10 years ago

Mamre Brook Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 1975

Really interesting example of an older cab/shiraz blend. On the nose it smells like an old CA cab, but the shiraz really develops on the palate. Not the best wine we've had, but really interesting! — 7 years ago

The Max Red Blend 2011

Dark garnet color, full body. Nose has spice, mineral, pipe tobacco, soft vanilla with some black fruit to round it out. High acid and grippy tannins with primary flavors of unripe black fruit, green peppers and some minerality. Awesome. — 8 years ago

Very nice aged sour from Sam Adams. Fruity start, lower carbonation than I expected, pretty smooth overall, though maybe missing something on the finish. — 9 years ago
