Small production giving love and care to each bottle. Huge clove and turmeric smells a bit stronger then the taste but still very well made, full enough to drink alone but even better with a good hot meal. — 11 years ago
Drank with Karly, Anne and Ev. Funky, shroomy and smooth, earthy but paired well with cheese and charcuterie plate. might not be for everyone. — 6 years ago

Really really good wine from Croatia. Nice dark opaque red wine. Minimal purple. Orangey faded red rim. Notes of cherry and raspberry. Lots of baking spice and vanilla. Pepper. Good legs. Medium tannins with good grip. Woodsy taste. Very good wine! Paired with fish trio (monkfish, swordfish, sea bass). Wasn't the best combination as there were medium to medium strong tannins, but this was my fault as I elected both unprompted. This wine would have been an excellent steak wine. Really robust flavors and tannins would balance the richness meatiness of a good steak or even lamb. @2Ribara restaurant in Zadar Croatia — 9 years ago

A rare and special blend of Garnacha, Tintilla de Rota, and Tempranillo from the incredibly beautiful town of Ronda in Andalucia. This is an earthy, macho, and lusty wine! My friend described it as a bad boy, the kind that makes you want to behave badly. This wine has mineral aromas and flavors of dried mud and straw combined with black cherry and black currant notes that stretch into savory, meaty impressions. Tobacco and vanilla flavors linger long on the palate. With smooth tannins, and medium plus balanced acidity, this is a winner! — 6 years ago

Le falta un poco de punch... But not bad. — 7 years ago
Picked it up in Madrid - my first Tintilla de Rota. Really nice - red fruit, floral aromas (violet?), some grilled meat. Soft tannins, nicely balanced, if maybe a tiny bit hot. — 9 years ago
Nice surprise...bought this in soller mallorca spain. Happy to have stumbled across. — 9 years ago
Deliciously soft and supple, perfect drinking time as acidity is mellow and the dried fruits are coming through. — 9 years ago

An intriguing blend of indigenous grapes; Tintilla de Rota and Romé, with Syrah and Garnacha. This is a highly regarded wine and winery in Spain with many high marks from Spanish critics. It has a bit of a cult following here, but for people unfamiliar with this region (DO Sierras de Malaga) it may be a bit perplexing. Intense aromas of wet soil, spicy black pepper, sage, rosemary, and sweet, mature dark fruit. Powerful flavors of earth, mud and fruit on the palette with succulent acidity anchored by fixed yet smooth tannins. A medium long finish that is savory and sweet at the same time, a bit like a good teriyaki sauce! This is an unusual and exciting wine. I highly recommend but drink with an open mind! — 6 years ago
