V. 2012. Fruit from original French rootstock. 9 months in French oak. Very well integrated oak. Supple and round yet bright. An Extremely pleasant sip! — 10 years ago
Tastes much lighter than the scent. Super floral, violet notes and supremely easy to drink. Will order again! #rootstock #pinotnoir #gamay #malbec — 10 years ago
Wine of Rootstock 2014 for me. — 11 years ago
2008, Cien Y Pico, Doble Pasta Garnacha Tintorera, Manchuela. Hundred year old Grenache vines on their own rootstock. Heavy extraction and probably no fining nor filtering. Intense red and black berry flavors, countered with a lot of spice. Not your typical Grenache but very tasty. Glad I have 2 more. — 11 years ago

im a southern boy.. so i like the name.. but really like this malbec from argentina — 11 years ago
Another marvelous Malbec from Crocker & Starr, Napa. French Malbec rootstock grafted to estate vines. Just the right amount of Petit Verdot added to give this a pleasing sour cherry tang on finish. Has time to go in bottle. =) — 12 years ago
I'm giving it a 9 because #Bobal is a difficult grape and this wine is elegant and well balanced. It's logical that others have said tannic because the grape itself is very thick skinned and tannic and this wine uses some #wholecluster and the combination produces a medium- chewy tannin to the finish of this wine. P F stands for Pie Franco which means original pre philoxera rootstock. Nice wine. For me it's more reminiscent of a Croze Hermitage than a Malbec. — 9 years ago
Not quite in a Jura AOC, but belongs in that section at the store. From a family who provides rootstock to famous producers (Isole e Olena, Rion). Serious full bodied Chard which could be BTG all over town. From Petit Monde who are importing some exciting wine. — 10 years ago
This wine was perfect with my steak at Earls. — 10 years ago
At winery...actually tasted 2013, which had not been labeled, so used 2012 for picture. Single vineyard called Mylos, which is owned by Monastery. Farmed by Hazidakis, now certified organic, and with 120 year old vines on own rootstock. — 11 years ago
Big kudos here, to the vintners, for providing just a little spice on the nose introducing flavors that present smoothly right after pulling the cork and results in big ole mouthful of jammy red fruit covering the entire palate with proper tannins and an easy finish resonating trails of what started as it drifts down one's throat. I found this, very affordable, yet right-on red wine at Promise Land Market (top-notch craft beer and wine bar that has become my fall hang while back home in Morehead City, NC; checkout the superb yet casual charcuterie). All a delight! (especially the people; come and see...) — 11 years ago
2011 first vintage 32 hours skin contact. White peach and lime blossom all vines are on their own rootstock a dry style of Riesling has a.bit of minerality with a bright fresh finish. Excellent — 12 years ago
Such an oddity, this wine is really special. The youngest vines that go into this wine are 60 years old and the oldest are 160. They are in their original rootstock too. So dense and and complex, I decanted it for 6 hours and still needed time to open. This wine will last a long time, but still is amazing now! If you know someone with a bottle, be around when they open it. — 9 years ago
Pinot Noir grafted on Cabernet Sauvignon rootstock. Meaty, but very polished, with a solid core of pomegranate and black cherry fruit. Fewer than 2,000 bottles produced. — 10 years ago
2012. Singing! Rootstock distributes. — 10 years ago
So surprising for a hot climate wine! No lack of acidity here! Rich texture, fascinating. Some of the oldest genetic material vilified! Own rootstock, look up a picture of the trellising. Not much else like this! — 10 years ago
Dark burgundy, nose berry, flavor blackberry full body excellent balance good finish
