Roda 1 is one of my go to Rioja loves 💗 & is superb for the money @ £35-£40 😉 The 01, 04 & 05 were all top wines 👍 The 2011 is showing well & a great example of a modern Rioja 👍 Nit a deep as other vintages & more fresher but fab still 😎

🍷 Deep opaque ruby w/ a purple hint

👃 Soft smokey oak through dark cherry w/ touches of herbs, cocoa, peppered spices, red berry liquorice, earth & blackcurrant

👄 Med body of creamy dark cherry bathed in cocoa w/ a black berry fruit & raspberry kick evolving into sone prune & date tones as it opens after a few hours - the Grenache brings a lovely freshness to this vintage 👍

🎯 Med+ dry cherry driven dark fruit linger w/ a hit of minerality & a red berry fruit kick

Whenever I'm back in London I try to pay a visit to Franco Manca for a dose of heaven manifest as pizza. For all the discernment of ingredients going into each mana-circle, it baffles me that the wines served as so appalling. Therefore I brought my own, discombobulating two waitresses in the process. Try the house wine to lift any confusion as to why I would BMOB. Querciabella's Chianti Classico is a consistent stunner for the price. Good depth and texture, it is a red fruit driven delight that held its own next to Franco's divine pizza. — 9 years ago

Really well made, I did not enjoy the 11 as much as I loved this one. Ripe cherries wrapped in tobacco and local spices (rosemary, fennel). Great tannins and length. Congrats (a competitor to Roda, my homeground, and a good solid one). — 9 years ago
