Golden color. Medium body, completely dry and high acidity. Layers of citrus reminiscent of grapefruit, orange peel and underripe pineapple. Bitter notes of blanched almond or hazelnut. Like a leaner version of amontillado sherry. Probably not for everyone. It went very well with black cod and rockfish for dinner. — 6 years ago

Lovely and poised. Quite cold-blooded . Very clear and medium bodied. The opposite of a US Pinot but genuinely delicious with food. Perfect with rockfish and tomato. Delicate and gorgeous on the nose. Brambles, sour cherry, black currant. Length but delicate — 9 years ago

This is another terrific wine from William Allen. Slightly honeyed nose with a chalky note that comes through on the palate as well. Add apricot, quince, and wildflowers and you have a delicious wine. I paired this with some Maryland Rockfish and the match was a hit. — 7 years ago
