Excellent Nebbiolo - great bouquet - had it with Ferruccio in Alba — 8 years ago
Older Barolos are so much better than their younger siblings. Unlike Bordeaux just a 3 7 year span can charm these wines. This wine has chocolate and coffee tones a bit of citrus and a very earthy overlay. Decanted for an hour and drank over 4 hrs. The last glass was like red velvet. The first glass wasn’t to shabby either — 9 years ago

Bodega Mendel is a boutique winery with an incredible story. Combination of 1928 Argentinian Malbec vines and other Bordeaux varietals provide a combination of sophisticated structure with enough complexity to keep the palate engaged. My favourite wine from Mendel. — 8 years ago

A perfectly smokey, incredibly drinkable orange. — 7 years ago
The Voerzio Capalot/Brunate 01 (mag) was the third WOTN for me. A perfect Voerzio expression. Hell of a nose and intensity/concentration. Much fresher and more vivid than a 09 I had last weekend. 01 seems to rock here again. Bright red stone fruit, dark roses and flowers, coffee bean, some mocha, tarry irony minerals. You kinda feel the old vines here. Wow. — 8 years ago
Delicious, yet odd taste.
Very tart. Short finish.
Hard to decipher.
Light bodied, but strong.
Sweeter as it opens up.
Still an odd tart taste. — 8 years ago

2009 has made a wine that is more accessible now, feel free to open it up but make sure to give it plenty of air. The nose is generous, tar, roses, sappy red fruits and licorice, savory for sure. The palate is a little less generous and firm, but unlike 2010, more enjoyable now.

Floral aromas of rose petals and violets on the nose. In the glass, concentrated red berry fruit, good acidity, and dry, chewy tannins. Benefits from some time to open up before drinking. Should drink beautifully now and for 10 years or more. — 10 years ago
Great Nebbiolo. Had with steak. — 12 years ago

Nose is a bit ripe and tomatoey. Weird. Mint? Some dead leaves. New wood. Bleh. — 6 years ago
