Delicious, but probably better in a decade. — 7 years ago
Brandied cherries, plums, cassis, cola, star anise, dried thyme, dried oregano, graphite, iron, cinder. Rounded acid, satin texture, medium bodied, minimal smooth velvet tannin balance, herbal-smoky finish. Texture forward, nice mature notes with great finish. Fun to taste the complexity of a table wine with age. — 8 years ago
Very interesting blend of 6 obscure varieties they grow. — 9 years ago
Great wine with a nice finish — 10 years ago
Intense body for an intense wine. Wonderful dark ruby with garnet shades. Intense note of wood (barriques, 50% new), a great leather and tobacco over riped red fruits. A note of under spirit black cherries in the mouth with silky tannins. Perfect acidity (from Sangiovese) to pair a good "ossobuco". 14,5% alcohol but only a few hint of it in the nose. Should be refined in the cellar but it's already a good wine. Ah, a wonderful place to visit, too, with its impressive "barriques arena" by Renzo Piano. — 10 years ago

95% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino. One of my favorite wines to drink with steak, especially with Greek seasoning. Medium dry, good amount of pepper, with a dried plum flavor. — 10 years ago

Friar Tuck
“Brought” this to the Crew Classé virtual tasting with Antinori’s Renzo Cotarella. So enjoyable to drink this with the wine maker and see inside his thoughts.. in 2020 this is a vibrant gold bombshell from the heavier oaked era. The fullness , density and kind persistence allow it to pare with a wide range of snacks and meals but especially good with brunch grazing — 5 years ago
