Chateau Ste. Michelle’s 2013 Artist Series Red is an elegant composition of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 3% Malbec, and 3% Cab Franc, with 85% of the fruit sourced from Cold Creek Vineyard. This is also winemaker Bob Bertheau’s favorite wine to blend, one where he’s given free reign. Freshly turned earth, black currants, cassis, sweet tobacco, and kirsch round out the nose. On the palate, it’s softly textured with mouth filling tannins. The balance of tannin to fruit is particularly nice in the Bordeaux-style blend. 14.5% ABV | Sample — 7 years ago
Move over Salice Salentino, this is my new go to pizza wine. It was a good 17 year reign... #cameattheking #didnotmiss — 7 years ago
Much darker then anticipated, very inky and almost black. Crushed violets and blue fruit reign supreme. Incredibly fresh and tart blueberries and moist black potting soil are all over the palate. This Lacrima is very soft, and even by itself is very drinkable. Aromatic and long, it is quite enjoyable. — 8 years ago
"B.Y.O.B.; Giving Somms free reign to flex, and plenty of budget to BALL"!

(BTW, paired beautifully with garlic butter clams, and Dungeness crab.) — 9 years ago
Still a little closed, but heavy on the nose with black pepper and fresh cherries, with hints of floral and savory. Cranberries and cherries reign on the palate with great acidity and umami throughout. Hints of cocoa on the backend and a finish that goes. Could use some time, but still enjoyable! From a demi-bottle. — 9 years ago
Perfect champagne to reign in 2015! — 9 years ago
As fine a village Savigny Blanc as I have had. Opens with ripe pear, red apple and lime zest fruit with touch of rusticity. Broad on the entry, the combo of acid and minerals reign it in. Dense apple and tangerine fruit flavors mingle with a bit of wood spice. This was delightful. — 6 years ago
100% Dolcetto, 13.5% abv, 341 case production.
At first super briary and leather belt lashings reign supreme on both the nose and palate. Later on, as the wine opened up to me, it whispered tellings of a time where rhubarb cobbler and tart cherries fought for a plum's honor with light body armor and a sense of chivalry not seen in centuries past. — 6 years ago
Smokey, tobacco, raspberries, spice... Very well done big, complex and engaging Pinot Noir. Plums, some barnyard notes and quite a bit of fruit overall but with a decided oak finish.
Trump ought to resign but it will take the courts, Congress, the media and most of all the people to badger him and his frail ego until he bails out of his criminal reign of terror.
Wine helps us get through these days.
My recollection is that it wasn't inexpensive. — 7 years ago
Golden in color. The palate is just perfectly reminiscent of lychee with ample helpings of perfume. When done right, Gewürztraminer, with its tropical and spiced notes, can reign in as unique a flavor as Sauvignon Blanc and botrytized wines do. Some RS. — 8 years ago
Maceration gives it a grip, but fruit and acid reign. Yum. — 8 years ago
On point the more delicate side of Nebbiolo, the end of Cristiano's reign here...he is the man can't wait to see what he does next! — 8 years ago
Says in the bible: dark cometh and the yeast shall reign! Who knew it be in time for Oktoberfest? Honey bread!! Indian gum, spearmint, admittedly pretzel, but this one is crisp, and the raw yeast keeps it unique. Streaky lacing that would make Barnett Newman proud! Yeast coated granite, leads to dried potato skin, white pine, balsa, and a cedar-dry finish that borders on polystyrene, albeit with a breadfruit herbaceous characteristic, great fest beer! — 9 years ago
This is a fantastic $10 bottle of wine. Our wine tastes have been seeing us venture well into $20 bottles for an average night. Reign it in and buy this. It's big and the spice lingers. Sweetness is up front and dissipates quickly to not longer on the tongue. There is a unique bitterness that I like. — 9 years ago

Fruit is somewhat muted. Peppery notes reign — 6 years ago
Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery offers a series of Belle Meade Bourbons finished in different used casks. The Cognac finish helps reign in the bourbon’s flavors and choreography, coming to a narrower, cleaner point as it leaves the palate. Its aroma was described to me as “eggnog,” a descriptor I find hard to shake. The spirit does find a beautiful combination of suave, warming flavors – cream, cinnamon, clove – as well as a gentle magnolia blossom florality. — 6 years ago
An exemplary effort, this lighter bodied red is rich and smooth on the palate, with soft blueberry and Bing cherry flavors and a pleasant, dusty finish. It paired well with Salmon and baby book Choy in cream sauce. — 7 years ago
Orange wine I actually really like — 7 years ago
GW tasting 9/28/16. Like the 2012 but with a bit more earthiness and minerals. Less peppery and red fruits on nose. Currants on palate. Finish complex. Fine tannins. Balance with acid. Freshness and fineness again reign. — 8 years ago
Blends reign supreme. Really enjoyed this. — 8 years ago
Lots of tropical fruit, some diesel, and a bit of butteryness. Plenty of acid yo reign it in. — 8 years ago
Serve this one on the cool side to reign it in. Great with pasta with veal ragu last night. — 9 years ago
And orange shall reign supreme. So says the orange man. Very solid orange wine. Not as big and complex as others. Lighter, crispy, not as orange as I'd want it either. Like just barely there on the color scale. Great on a hot day! — 9 years ago
Remains one of the most extraordinary Pinot Noirs for the money. Perhaps not as flinty and ashy as the 07, but earthiness and minerality and just a hint of fruit still reign. — 11 years ago

Definitely felt like the biggest wine of the bunch. Oak & spice on the nose with some darker fruit. Great power, but more than enough acidity to reign it in. Wonderfully structured, and it doesn’t take much to convince me this has a long life based on the other bottles we had. Great stuff. — 5 years ago
