Notes of pecorino and juicy fruit // a really exceptional bottle worth pursuing again — 9 years ago
Very beautiful, smooth and nicely tuned. Love this wine almost as much as the 2012. Every time I re-taste this wine I affirm the rating. Robert Parker gave it 90pts, so I am in good company here. Mother's Day '16. — 9 years ago
Nice medium body Sicilian Nero d'Avola with great acid. — 10 years ago
Medium, ruby colour. Nose is medium intensity with red fruit and rose. Dry, medium+ acidity, light tannins, medium body, strawberry, cherry, spice, rose with medium+ finish. Happy Canada Day! — 10 years ago
1959 Demi-Sec: very lemon peel nose, very delicate with light mineral Flint notes. Lovely harmonised palate with beautiful grace of deft sugar, and clean juicy acidity. All citrus with a hint of honey, and only very light nut and savoury on the finish. Sublime and in perfect harmony. On re sniff there were very distinct fennel and dill notes after 30minutes in glass — 10 years ago

A little funk goes a long way in this país. Closest thing I've had to Lopez Heredia, just short of the real thing. Of interest @Chris MacLean — 9 years ago

Reminiscent of Beaujolais' Gamay, this southern part of Tuscany's Ampeleia is producing some fine red wine! Mine tonight, after 30 minutes swim and spin in the decanter's pool of naked open space and air shows first to the nose wet rocks, slate and sandstone freshly accenting menthol and anise then strictly earthen dirt and minerals and a hint of the berries. First kiss is lightly but intriguingly nasty, wet and dripping red fruit which immediately coats and clings but most interestingly reaches back for the wet rocks overlooking the Med, then re-engages just in time to leave hints of her red and blue berry essence complimenting the blackened octopus in a mash of white beans and spices laced with a hint of Tabasco offered up by Chapel Hill's Il Palio located off Franklin Street (checkout both) Ciao🕶 — 9 years ago

A distanza di un paio di anni dall'ultimo assaggio l'ho trovato ancora in ottima forma e senza quell'eccesso di alcool della volta scorsa. Un infante. — 9 years ago
Good weight and flavor. Went well with a Sun Liquor's Gun Club (naval strength) Gin Negroni. — 9 years ago

Best blueberry pie you ever had. Blueberries and spice and everything nice — 10 years ago
2011 Tenuta il Crinale Rosso Piceno Superior Re Nero. 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese. Very dark, almost black. Flowers, violet nose with some vanilla. Wine has a graphite, textural feel. Very dry. Blueberries. Great value. — 10 years ago
A little stinky upon opening them the stank to drank ratio shifts to beautiful juicy, brambly raspberry fruit with a framing bit of savory earthiness and tannins to balance the exuberance. Re-buy with conviction! — 10 years ago
2006 - incredible. If you visit the estate you can purchase their chocolates that are made from one of their vintages. This incredible chocolate pairs incredibly well with the Lusso. It has been over a year since I tasted that chocolate with the Lusso but every time I pull this wine from the cellar it brings me back to that moment. #AlloraVineyards — 10 years ago
