Foradori

Granato Teroldego

Didn’t have the rave reaction of some but confirms that it is hard to find a bad wine made in the Dolomites. As some have noted it takes time for some funk to blow off but it is worth the wait. — 7 years ago

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2011

Have seen some rave reviews for this vintage drinking well already. It is but doesn’t suit me as much as others. That’s not to say this isn’t delicious, because it is. Really elegant cherry and red fruit with some tea leave and herbal notes. Very connected through the finish. — 7 years ago

Passopisciaro

Passopisciaro Sicilia Nerello Mascalese 2014

Rave reviews from the Wine Press in Australia. Nose of aromatic Herbs, rocks sour cherries and gravel. Hard to imagine a more minerally soil than on the slopes of Mount Etna - an active volcano. The palate is fresh, clean with savoury cherry and moderate tannins. Totally Slammable! The perfect Pasta wine. Going on a Wine and Food Tour to Sicily in October so will see Etna up close. Cannot wait! — 8 years ago

Domaine Charles Audoin

Cuvée Marie Ragonneau Marsannay Pinot Noir 2014

Funky and tart, like a barn rave. It's been a few months since I've gotten to flirt with Burgundy proper, and I'm glad to be back. Pairing with chicken cacciatore, to bring out the herbaceous, wet-hay-like gaminess that makes wine like this perfect for dinner tonight. While the tart acidity isn't usually my first choice, it balances my dinner masterfully. I bet in 3-5 years, the barrel spice, fruit, and acidity will marry well. — 8 years ago

Big Table Farm

Sunnyside Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

The label shown is the backside of the bottle. The front side is a sketch of a chicken. 2013 vintage. This was THE pinot noir that turned my head around. I LOVED this wine. I have stated before what a great label Big Table Farm is and this is one of those super wines they offer. Not sure you can still buy it, they usually run out before the wine critics can rave much about them. My only wish was that I made enough bucks to buy cases of each pinot they made from this vintage. This is outstanding Oregon Pinot from Willamette valley. — 9 years ago

Larkmead Vineyards

Napa Valley Red Blend 2012

Goid wine but nothing spectacular to rave about. — 9 years ago

Keswick Vineyards

Monticello Merlot 2014

I've heard rave reviews about the 2014 vintage from a good number of the producers in the Monticello region of Virginia. Now I know why. The '14 Keswick Merlot is an example of why the Merlot grape is not-so-quietly growing in its acclaim up and down the Atlantic coast. CONSISTENCY is the buzz word, and it shows in this example. It's bright on the nose with stewed cherry and bright, light hints of mocha. PERFECT with a sirloin steak and pierogies. Delicious, juicy mouthfeel and a satisfying finish. It's a perfect introduction to the bright future that's brewing in Virginia. — 10 years ago

E. Guigal

La Doriane Condrieu Viognier 2009

Well. It's really well crafted, you definitely feel that the Guigal's have a magic touch. Although a grand wine, it is really not my kind of Condrieu. I am more a George Vernay fan and this Doriane is way too massive, too muscular and intense. Literally, I had the impression of eating a tarte Tatin or a baked apple with cinnamon.
Again, I can understand some rave about it but I personally will not buy it again.

Hubert Lamy

Les Chataigners Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2010

This wine has been very impressive each of the 3-4 times I’ve had it. Purchased after seeing a rave on instagram and I’m happy to report that it’s in great shape, with a lovely balance of freshness and complexity. Punches above its weight for sure. Becoming a big Lamy fan! — 7 years ago

Merry Edwards

Flax Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010

I really do like Merry Edwards' wines, and gift them often (no one has ever not liked the bottle they have received, and usually rave about it), and suggest them as a "beginner" winery to order direct from.
But this one was just kind of flat, bland and unexciting for me. I think I have had that problem with the Flax vineyard before. 14.1 ABV. Not Bad, just kind of blah. 8.8

Pirramimma

McLaren Vale Petit Verdot 2011

This is hands down, my "go to" Red. I absolutely love it. I recommend it to anyone and everyone that will listen to me rave about it. Try it. You'll love it. If you've never had a Pettit Verdot, you are in for a lovely treat. Its perfect if you are a Pinot Noir fan or enjoy any "chewy" "syrupy" "jam-y" Red. Great with steak, but it's IDEAL all by itself on a late warm night with a dear or new feiend. — 8 years ago

Castell'in Villa

Riserva Chianti Classico Sangiovese 1971

I did not have the privilege of drinking this sauce but my friend in Italy gave it rave reviews. He said' "Rare bottles of artisan wines of great vintages contain basic elements of the most remote secrets of life." This is why I want to learn more about wine and I give my admiration to all of you & @Delectable Wine that help me learn. Cheers and gratitude. 🙏🏽🙌🏾🍷 — 9 years ago

Domaine de la Pépière

Clisson Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Melon de Bourgogne 2014

I’m certain you could give this wine blind to both an expert and a neophyte and both would rave about it. What’s not to like? The fruit (lemon curd, some stone fruit, green melon, lemon candy) is lively and generous, acid is vibrant, alcohol is in check, and the texture is steely with a soft cloud cover of creaminess from the lees aging. There is plenty of complexity for those seeking it, but it’s undeniably and simply delicious. Absolutely beautiful young, and from what I’m reading from other reviewers, I need to buy some more to hold on to... — 7 years ago

Brookman Syrah 2009

Rave reviews from the professionals. On the nose, there is kirsch, deep forest fruits and a note that I have a hard time describing other than "old". there are ripe blackberries and an intense mouthfeel. Despite this, the tannins remain well integrated. Nevertheless, I was expecting more. — 8 years ago

It has been a ☔️️☔️️🍂🍂 weekend here in Chicago and I couldn't let this gift from @David A Lentine stare at me anymore. Time to pop some good stuff. Plus we have to celebrate a 💪🏻💪🏻 showing by 🇺🇸 at the Ryder Cup, right @Mike Rowe ⛳️?

I'm excited to try some of
@Celia Welch wines that all you post so much of and rave about. 2011 was a difficult harvest but the initial swirl indicates no impact of that!

Once again
