One of my favorite Pinot Noirs. It is an outstanding wine — 9 years ago
Fruity and very complex. Curious to see where this one goes. — 9 years ago
Bright fruit without being overly jammy... And the heat was definitely subdued vs. one from more recent years. Definitely will scour the cellar to see if I can find one more... — 9 years ago
Big bold California Chardonnay's. One of my absolute favorites. Delicious. Competes well with much pricier wines. Love it. — 10 years ago
One of the best wine deals around!! Prices for everyday drinking, but tastes like a more premium wine. Love this! — 10 years ago
Had this in a recent blind tasting. Aged for 12 months, very pleasant light berry fruit aromas with slight undertones of earthiness. On the palate cherry and currants with subtle spice. I would consider this one of the lighter bodied CA Pinot’s I have tasted. Soft tannins lingering ending with a mineral tang. Nice, from their 1500 acre Grace Benoit Ranch in Carneros. Consistent quality from recent tastings. — 7 years ago
Eric Bauger knows how to make a wine. One of my favorite vineyards in Sonoma from one of my favorite wineries. — 9 years ago
I drank this at their open house, and at the time I thought it was one of the best 2011's we tasted. This is another example of a wine that will have the "experts" pondering the 2011 vintage. This may be similar to a 2003 for selected wineries. I'll go on the record that I like it - a lot. — 10 years ago
One of my personal favorites! — 10 years ago
Hands down one of the best Chardonnays I've sampled in Napa. Aromas of caramel, vanilla, heaven. Smooth, balanced and a lil pineapple. — 11 years ago
(Leather and musk on the nose?. I have a hard time identifying those but they were there on the first tasting pour. Not so much on the second...) Also some sarsaparilla? covered fruit. Nice tannic feel up front but not overpowering the fruit that comes next. Hard for me to ID the fruit. It’s not a classic Oregon cherry bomb but there is cherry - but also woody. This is one @Cynthia Langstaff will love. @David Langstaff — 8 years ago
Ahhh...RRV is my favorite PN. This one is special. Amazing nose and long finish. Enjoy with or without food! — 8 years ago
One of our favorite Pinots and our go to at Lewnes Steakhouse in Eastport. Well balanced. Hints of cherry and cola. — 8 years ago
@Mike Smith knocks this one out of the park for@the price — 9 years ago
One of the best California Cabernets, including all the Cult Cabs. It is pure elegance even at this still young age. It most certainly will only get better over the the next five to eight years. The hardest part is waiting as it's so good now. Blackberries, blueberries, blueberries and blueberries. Black plum, raspberries paint the background, liquid violets, milk chocolate, it's juicy to dry, underbrush, herbs, dry crush rocks, just a touch of baking spices, sweet leather and dry soft minerals. Smooooth! The fruit is perfect. Chuck really knows how to farm fruit and the exact time to reel it in. He is one of the most underrated Winemakers in CA. — 9 years ago
Happy Halloween (again). Next up 2012 Nickel & Nickel. I chose opening the State Ranch (Yountville) bc it's probably the lightest and most approachable of the '12s from N&N. It's not one of their big Napa cabs: much more subtle. Some nice chocolate and blueberry notes — 10 years ago
Restaurant had half off wine and let me get this one. Long finish that goes on for days..... Great opportunity to try a great wine! — 10 years ago
Tastes better when drinking with the one you love most. Trust me. — 11 years ago
Great wine from one of the growers that supplies grapes to Orin Swift. — 11 years ago

Planted in 2007, big wine in a big vintage. Cooler site, on the west side of the AVA out by elk cove and BTF. Another stunner, 15’s have fruit for days, maybe years. This wine is 100% whole cluster, the only in the lineup, all of the wines are ticking up in percentage every year but this one tops the chart and is distinctly different on the nose and has a silkier texture than the other bottlings — 7 years ago
