Finesse and precision. Big rich dark fruit, acid, balance, finish and high alcohol well hidden. — 8 years ago
Valpolicelle and pork. Superb. Not quite up with the Quintarelli but very close. Great for the price. £15. — 8 years ago
Probably not my first choice a priori for a Mexican meal but it actually worked well with a nice Cochinita Pibil. Lush and full bodied with a layered texture and structure to it. Evidently there are Quintarelli ties here... — 8 years ago
In honor of Guiseppe Piras. He left this earth too soon. Cheers! — 9 years ago
Had this tasty Freisa from the classic Guiseppe Mascarello estate while at home with @Souvla roast pork and also some tasty porcini filled ravioli finished with black truffle butter. We feature this at Merchants of Beverage — 9 years ago
As per previous tasting note 107 weeks ago. Love these succulent lush savoury fruited Amarones. Priuney notes with dried raisin, milk chocolate, leather, red licorice, tobacco and a touch of cinnamon. On the full bodied palate quite sweet fruited with raisin and milk chocolate flavours finishing with soft largely resolved supple tannins. Good QPR for an Amarone. Nothing like the price of a Quintarelli. — 3 years ago
Given its history, its story, and its rarity, I wanted to LOVE this, but as lovely and delicious as it is, it doesn’t measure up to the best Sauternes. Don’t get me wrong — I would drink it all day long, just not on my dime. — 6 years ago
I love this bottle of olive oil for salads and dipping...I gave one to my dear friend Alec but I don't believe he ever opened it because he "never found a good enough recipe for it." Life is short...open your bottles ladies and gents...and do it with your friends...miss you AW. — 7 years ago
Nice, classic. No crazy length like Quintarelli but for the money very, very solid. — 8 years ago
Coming off the back of a Quintarelli this looked subdued. After the adjustment this had the most beautiful weightlessness followed by depth of tannins and pretty, elegant, tar, rose and Turkish delight nose! Too bad it was -0 years too young! — 8 years ago
Ol man Quintarelli would be proud... — 9 years ago

Baby amarone with incredible freshness and elegance—winemaker cut his teeth at quintarelli so no surprise. Nose has ripe red cherries and a floral / herbal sensibility, flavors carry through to the palate with amazing concentration but not heavy or syrupy at all, with accents of licorice and cinnamon. 14.5% abv without a trace of heat. A joke at sub-$30 — 3 years ago
Rich red fruit and dried plum spices, elegant balance and not overtly sweet. — 4 years ago
Lovely maderization yet retained incredible freshness — 6 years ago
I had the Giuseppe Quintarelli which is absolutely a mouthful of goodness this is Little less fun but still worth the money — 7 years ago
2010. A deft balance between Quintarelli elegant concentration and new generation drinkability. The longer it's open the more it reveals its traditional character. L'arco wines are sneaky in their complexity. — 8 years ago

Perhaps no Valpolicella Superiore deserves more than 9, but this is the best in this style that I have had. (I am not counting Dal Forno Romano or Quintarelli, which are really baby Amarones.) I drank this chilled with penne alla vodka, and it paired perfectly. This wine is light and fruity, but also has a rich cranberry flavor. A nice value for $30. — 3 years ago
