I generally try to keep politics or sorrow events off this platform. However, this morning we watched the McCain funeral and were genuinely moved. We should all hope for such a beautiful funeral.
Today, John McCain brought the world one final parting gift. A message of; peace, unity, love, respect and hope for our country. Let’s hope people listen and try to live their lives with a little more of each.
Today, a country grieves the loss of a great American and celebrates the life of a true American hero. We will miss you and your voice in our country’s discourse. Cheers & R.I.P John. You have certainly earned it.
I can’t think of many better bottles than to celebrate his life and his service commit to our country!

On the nose, blood orange, white citrus, orange peel, dry apricot, Mexican papaya, spice, sea spray, sea shells, gray volcanic minerals with grit, citrus blossoms and spring flowers with orange Gerber Daisies.
The body is full, rich and lush. Micro oxygenation, blood orange, tangerine, white citrus, orange peel, dry apricot, yellow peach, Mexican papaya, baguette crust, spice with palate heat, sea spray, sea shells, gritty gray volcanic minerals with citrus blossoms and spring flowers with orange gerber Gaisies. The acidity is perfect. The finish is beautifully long, rich, lush, elegant and goes on and on.

A fun wine. It is golden in color with notes of citrus and the nuttiness of aged Chardonnay. The first day was quite tired and we wondered if this was a flawed bottle. The subsequent day showed an awakening of fruit, acidity and enhanced nuances of wet rocks and shells, which was fantastic. — 8 years ago

Citrus, crushed shells, oily, chalky nose. Just the smell is worth the price of admission. Initially citrus, hen immediately almonds and oil, and a lingering shells and mineral finish. Love Roulot. — 9 years ago
Dampt killed in 13. Ripe nose with loads of seashells and oyster shells. Really jumps out of the glass. So classic. While 14 ages I think 13 and 12 are where it's at. Delicious and ripe palate with terrific purity. Long and juicy. Amazing mid palate and such nice saltiness on the finish. — 9 years ago
Ok, so why don't we just drink this all the time? Oyster shells & minerals, oh my! And it's not THAT expensive. — 10 years ago
Underripe lemon limestone medium acid oyster shells. Delicious. — 11 years ago
Perfect shrimp boil wine. Nice and cold. Covered in shrimp shells — 11 years ago
These supposedly off years by old great producers are simply gems... Extreme front to back balance, sun drenched hay, touch of dry peach, apricot pits, crushed pebbles, shells, bits of honeysuckle, and a soft acid backbone that lingers and touches your spine. Better than most grand cru's I have had in famous vintages. Speaks more to development than popular knowledge/science which is never meets great expectations in wine. Try it to love and live it ! — 12 years ago
A beautiful nose of yellow orchard fruit, honeysuckle and a touch of sea shells and salin texture. The wine is rich, a nice roundness and slightly less crisp than the usual Droin style, but still with enough backbone and acidity to make it harmonious, balanced, classy, elegant and with a lingering delicious finish. Great bottle. 93 pts aisément — 5 years ago
From Domestique 4/13/19 for tagine, but only opened 2013 in garden on 4/27/19. Chlorine smell for J; lemon, thyme, chives, cloves, vanilla. Mouthfeel and long finish of pine. Pretty rich for Muscsdet. Expected salinity. Malted Easter egg shells. — 7 years ago
Yellow gold. Heavier in the glass than the 06. Nice exotic nose. Has developed nice secondary notes of clay, spice, lemon and oyster shells. Complex. Some honey shows up. Big in the mouth but the finish was a bit thin, even with hours of air. Not sure if this will get any better from here. — 8 years ago
Lemon zest, apricots, quince, sea shells vanilla bean, gardenias. Perfect vibrant acidity, light-medium bodied, creamy texture, incredibly long crisp citrus, stone fruit, chalky, sea breeze finish. Mineral forward, texture driven, aromatics linger on the palate more so than on the nose. Loads of character and elegance. — 8 years ago
Pure focus of minerality and acidity. Crushed oyster shells and saline with a fragrant but ripe core of orchard fruits indicative of a premier cru vineyard site. Buy more than one bottle. — 9 years ago
Ocean, seaweed, shells, lemon, pears, grass, guava, starfruit, white orchid — 10 years ago
Lightly colored. Expressive nose that could be described as a mix of lemon juice poured over rocks and sea shells, very mineral and fresh. On the palate it is tight, fresh, salty and mineral with crispy green apple over a vigorous acidity. A real summer wine! Very good+ (89)

Tricky lil devil. Nectarines, wet chalk, oyster shells. — 12 years ago
Wow. Rich yet light with loads of acid. Oyster shells and all kinds of white fruit. — 6 years ago
Lemon curd, gardenias, sea shells, sourdough. Lively rounded acidity, medium bodied, juicy-oily texture, lime zest, chalky slightly floral finish. High elevation vines, lighter in texture than vintage is known for, great acid tension, excellent lengthy finish. Phenomenal producer. — 7 years ago
Fresh and vivid on the nose. Lime, lemon, honeyed notes, a slatey core. Some of the 2010 sweetness with a bit of tang. Lovely and light and fresh. With time oyster shells and a refreshing salinity but the heft and punch of meursault. Like great Chablis consommé. So deft and lucid. Wonderful. — 7 years ago
Oyster shells rocks and limestone! Deep fruit and lengthy acids encased this powerful Chard! — 10 years ago

Another terrific showing from the superb Vincent Dauvissat. After an hour decant the wine shows its racy energy, stony minerality, chamomile, oyster shells and its seamless integration of oak and acid. Finishes wonderfully long and with great tension. — 5 years ago
