Profile Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot 1999

Aged fantastically! Nice dried dark cherry, gets better as it opens up. — 11 years ago

Ruinart

Dom Ruinart Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2004

2004 vintage. Dom Ruinart. Blanc de Blancs. With Freddy Panaiotos. Pale lemon. Chardonnay profile - lemon, grapefruit, fresh fruit. On the palate, rich and slightly musty wood and earthy. Good bubbles. Nice finish and lemony length that goes on for a minute or so. However I think this bottle is not showing well. — 11 years ago

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

Hermitage Syrah 1980

Wine of the night. Sneaky Burgundian profile and weight that might have been green once upon a time. Finished long, with lingering raspberry leaf tea notes and lip smacking stoniness. — 12 years ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1988

Still got it. A fantastic old Bordeaux with a classic nose and great flavor profile. A bit short on the finish. Tannins even still there for a few more years of life left. A great bottle. — 11 years ago

Château Mouton Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1981

Um yeah... #BOOM status granted for this at the #yulwinethrowdown . 81 not the best of vintages and wines are reportedly past peak but this first growth was not. Very interesting flavour profile, certainly secondary characteristics but structurally still pretty sound. I was glad to find it still alive and in my opinion had many more years left before the big decline. Awesome privilege to have tasted. — 11 years ago

Clos des Papes

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2006

Just dusted of one; not the class act like the 05 but very well structured classic aged fruit profile with a gamey flavor lining. The tannins are soft but hold your attention. If you can fine it buy it this is well done drinking great but has a long life ahead. — 13 years ago

Merryvale Vineyards

Profile Gold Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot 1997

This was an incredible Profile from 1997 that went down as smooth as water. Can't believe it has held up as long as it has but it was worth it — 11 years ago

Château Sociando-Mallet

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2007

Beautiful balanced Bordeaux. Can handle additional aging. Initial big Merlot nose, jammy, cherry but opened after decanting for an hour to a terrific full spectrum flavor profile — 11 years ago

Sijnn

Low Profile Red Blend 2009

Juicy yet earthy - brilliantly innovative — 11 years ago

Château Lynch-Bages

One of my favorite Bordeaux. Had the 1986 a few years back that still tasted young. Can be cellared for decades.
