Wow. This is by far the best Meursault I've had the privilege of drinking. Deep, golden hay colored in the glass. The nose is reminiscent of a morning breeze on a Maui lanai; Tropical plants, pineapple, and ocean air. The palate delivers wave after luscious wave of gorgeous flavors; fresh pineapple, yellow nectarine, Meyer lemon, green guava, wet river stone, crushed oyster shells. There is some smoke and smoldering oak in the background. Clove and cinnamon. The finish lingers with clean acidity, lifting it all up and keeps you going back for more. Open this about 3 hours prior to consuming and serve at slightly above cellar temperature. — 9 years ago

Still a baby. Needs many hours to open up. Always a privilege to drink. — 10 years ago
As balanced as you can get. Just wonderful! — 10 years ago
Had the privilege of visiting Pulenta Estate a couple years back so I grabbed this bottle immediately on sight. Notes of citrus and fresh cut grass, paired perfectly with chicken. Delicious and such a steal at $10! — 10 years ago

Had the privilege to have a glass. What a great wine — 10 years ago
Nice a little cool with a turkey roasting next to me. Chefs' privilege. — 10 years ago
Epic sake one of the best I've had the privilege to enjoy in the US or Japan — 11 years ago
One of those Saturday night mistakes, opened, omg how did that happen. Needs 10 yrs. a wonderful full mouthed Tuscan, lost track, but what the heck, privilege to drink. Wonderful!!! — 11 years ago
Full body, no tannins, very drinkable. One of the best that I have had the privilege to drink. — 11 years ago
2013 is laid down, but this '12 was a treat. Certainly a privilege when Kevin Kinsella himself is pouring for you! — 9 years ago
What a beautiful person inside and out! I'm blessed beyond measure to be able to call him "Dad". Words can't adequately express how much I Love him. We opened a few bottles last night that I will hold near and dear to my heart forever. We are celebrating his completion of 6 rounds of chemo therapy in his battle against Prostate cancer. This is his 3rd time in the ring against this opponent and it appears that he's won with a unanimous decision by knockout at this time!!!!!! Love you dad!!!!! So proud of your strength through this process. My Father was born in 1940. A difficult year to say the least:
Germans entered Bordeaux in June of 1940. As dictated by Hitler himself, it was the sworn duty of each and every commander to search and seize whatever could be used for the advancement of the German cause. Bedlam broke out. Chateaux' were ransacked, wine cellars were looted if not used for target practice. The Chateauxs were forced to continue producing wines. It's poetic justice that Mother Nature provided the Germans with the worst growing season from 1940 to 1944!!!! The Germans left Bordeaux in 1944 to the cheers of the residents "Au Revoir Les Allemands"!!!! The 1940 bottle that we enjoyed this evening survived World War II. It Survived the ransacking, pillaging & plunder of countless German soldiers. It's outer capsule showed evident signs of its struggle but it's inner beauty was unblemished and glorious. I've had many, many vintages of Latour from 1928 and on but none have ever tasted as perfect as the one we enjoyed tonight. This 1940 was perfect. It was a fighter, it never gave up, it never relinquished in the face of adversity. That's my Father, that my role model. He's a beautiful person inside & out. I think 1940 is the best vintage that I have ever had the privilege to enjoy. Special thanks to my good friends Michael Troise whom provided me with much of the insights in regards to the incredibly difficult vintage and David Page whom gifted this bottle to me for our celebration this evening. I will never forget your generosity. It was a glorious evening to say the least!!! Wine has a way of bringing people together and encapsulating an evening and event. I couldn't think of a better way to rejoice in his victory than to open a Father & Son birth year wine. — 9 years ago
A privilege to taste this long out of market wine in magnum format. Obvious traces of age, and possibly past its prime, but still very enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Unsure whether any attempt to unravel this superbly cohesive and presently perfectly mature wine will succeed - lets just say: mature colour moving to brown at the edges, slightly muddy looking even. The nose also denotes its age - Worcester sauce, balsamic, little or no smoke or upfront, obvious fruit characteristics. Velvety midweight texture with the tannins softened into a fine grain; on the palate it is all elusive and allusive, suggesting dozens of possible flavours - red currant, raspberry, espresso, cinnamon, etc etc. A long long finish of the kind that makes you lick your teeth as you chase down the last molecules. Third bottle of this I've had the privilege of tasting, each one extraordinary. All of the Merry Edwards wines I've tried have been excellent, this one is better than excellent, almost perfect. — 10 years ago
bocca ricca golosa e fresca, rotondo, note di pera matura e mele cotogne candite — 10 years ago
While it is a privilege to taste, I didn't enjoy this 2010 pingus that much. Maybe it's the youth or maybe not. Concentrated with a ton of oak and a noticeable cough syrup quality. Very big, high alc and structured. Not my cup of tea now and not sure it ever will be. — 11 years ago
Pure delight, a privilege and a pleasure. — 11 years ago
Really luscious fruit, great tannin structure, mouth feel balanced, lingering spicy finish. A privilege to drink! — 11 years ago

Absolute perfection. I've chased the ghost of this wine since the first time I tasted it almost 2 yrs ago and was hopeful this bottle would show as well as the first. It did. Silky, still great fruit, mushroom, leather, truffles and tobacco. The finish was accompanied by heavenly harps with notes of unicorn tears. Epic stuff that remains one of the greatest wines I've ever had the privilege of tasting. Was slightly tight upon opening but after an hour it exploded in the glass. — 9 years ago

Had the privilege of meeting Eric Jensen last night and barrel tasting his wines. Upon finishing, he offered us his cabin in the vineyard to spend the night. Woke up this morning in the middle of 60 planted acres with a thick fog blanketing the roiling hills. Heaven. — 9 years ago
Ok back in town and inspired by usual gang which have drinking incredible wines I proclaim tonight "International Night" and as such please drink USA cab, followed by your fav Italian and then some French and finally pot luck - as such my first - I have the privilege of the first 2010 rating - other vintage ratings got this right - great smell color taste and finish - yeah - wife beat to my smile but smiling as well — 10 years ago

1998 hallelujah!!! Aged as long as it should be... So so great!!! Leathery, earthy, but still holds good fruit!! What a privilege to taste! — 10 years ago
I did not get the privilege of tasting the 2009 so cannot compare, but this was a delicately dry Tuscan blend with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot strong. Nice red fruit. Finishes well. Cleanses the palate without competing. It even handled blue cheese without losing any robustness. — 10 years ago
Beautiful Riesling with slight good of petrol. Plenty of acidity compensating for the residual sugar. A privilege to drink this. — 11 years ago
30 minutes in a decanter: great. 120 minutes: dumb. 5 hours: Amazing. Blackberry cobbler on the nose with a hint of graphite. Eucalyptus, old leather and cigar box across the mid. And the finish, my god, sweet oak, violets and raspberry jam. It keeps building and building. Maybe the best wine I've ever had the privilege to drink. — 11 years ago
Um yeah... #BOOM status granted for this at the #yulwinethrowdown . 81 not the best of vintages and wines are reportedly past peak but this first growth was not. Very interesting flavour profile, certainly secondary characteristics but structurally still pretty sound. I was glad to find it still alive and in my opinion had many more years left before the big decline. Awesome privilege to have tasted. — 11 years ago
Totally unique and a privilege to drink this — 12 years ago

Just enjoyed this 2006 vintage and our minds were blown. One of the best bottles I’ve had the privilege of drinking. The complexity was out of this world with every part of the nose, tongue and throat exploding with flavors and nuances. Couldn’t have shared a better bottle with friends! — 8 years ago
