Rich, nutty, vanilla, brown butter, mildly oxidative, baked spiced orchard fruit--this is definitely not your lean mineral driven non-malo style--yet all that ripeness and flavor is offset by a palpable acidic core with smokey flinty finish. Like Chablis and Meursault together filtered through a Sonoma prism. It's a lot but it works. Very cool that he holds these this long before release — 9 years ago
