Oh my goodness! We tasted this wine with Jack Edwards while in Napa last September and ordered some. Finally, tonight, have opened it and --- WOW!!!
We forgot how outstanding this wine is and wish we had ordered more! Hope no one, other than Jack, sees this review! :). Thank you, again, Jack!! B — 11 years ago

The Beatles wrote " when you get to bottom and go back to the top " this sums up my recent consumption.. The baroness and I disagree about this Italian Stallion, so much so I'm in the spare room - otherwise known as the lager lounge.. This beauty has brought me back to the top, I feel closer to Bacchus.. It explodes like popping candy with an array of flavour which go for beyond my Neanderthal tongue... It's smooth but challenging. The local priest is due for a visit I will ask him to bless the case I intend to buy tomorrow.. Long live Italian grapes@Delectablewine Delectablewine — 10 years ago
My folks invited a priest to dinner for something. This is what he ordered. The irony isn't lost. — 10 years ago
Smells like green pepper, jalapeño, barnyard. Tastes delicious - tannins, darker fruit, a touch of smoke. winemaker was a priest turned clown turned winemaker — 11 years ago
Heaven in a bottle . If I could get a priest to do it, I would marry it.... — 11 years ago
A very ripe and rich style with lots of melon and fig fruit with just a hint of minrrality very round with a short but pleasant finish 35+ very good + — 11 years ago
8000 cases produced from the estate very concentrated rich priest ranch andlynch estate ripe cherry andcurrantnerry fruit firm acidity and a long finish excellent + — 11 years ago
This is made right next to chateau rayas and is about as close to that as you can get at a reasonable price. Benoit said the owner is a wife swapping ex-priest. Also the label is terrible, which likely makes the price lower. — 9 years ago
Another closed up wine at the tasting. Needs love, time, warmth, a priest. Still the nose is lovely and its a high quality wine served in unfavorable circumstances. — 9 years ago
Excellent Napa Cab. — 10 years ago
Yes. Dry dusty tannins supported by elegant cherry and berry foundations. Not that full of body. I imagine it might be the favourite tipple of a bookish Piedmont priest. — 10 years ago
Nice blend, solid fruit — 11 years ago
Reminds me of the Robert Bresson movie Diary of a County Priest. Ascetic, elegant, but not much fun. — 11 years ago

This afternoon the wine I have decided to open was a Christmas gift from my parish priest. The 2011 Penfolds Bin 8 Cabernet Sauvignon - Shiraz blend, 62% Cab. Sauv. and 38% Shiraz.
On the nose is dark jammy fruit, black raspberry, black cherry, blueberry, prune, black currant, licorice, violet, lavender and graphite.
On the palate the dark fruit comes through but not jammy, blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry, cranberry, star anise and graphite.
A very silky smooth mouthfeel with medium acidity, medium granular tannins and a pleasingly medium finish.
Have a prosperous and healthy New Year. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷 — 9 years ago
