Great value and taste — 8 years ago
This is freakin' delicious. Bright, crisp. Very aromatic, dried underripe cantalope on the nose. Bitter on the palate. Smacking minerality and a prickly mid palate. Really in line with the other 2014 Austrian wines I've tasted...restrained, seamless structure, subtle. Must have been a colder year, as the 2015s are much richer. I love this. Perfect for summer if you need an alternative to Sancerre or base level Bourgogne. — 8 years ago
I rather enjoyed this! Fresh, juicy wild berry fruit, with prickly raspberry and blackberry tempered by crushed stone, barnyard hay, and lots of nature Loire funkiness. Great acidity. — 9 years ago
I finally found a wine for Indian and SE Asian food!! It's soft and pretty, with just enough prickly fizz to bring the flavors of watermelon, strawberry and papaya to life. More wineries need to produce frizzante rosé. — 9 years ago
Great taste, nice and tart. — 10 years ago
2013 - BAM! Creamy, Pine(y) stone fruit, batenburg cake but with a deep mineral dent, great. Textured mouth feel, rich but with some prickly tropical and citrus fruit acidity, creamy but clean finish, Ab Fab. GORGEOUS! Rewards plenty of air & def get in ye cellar if you can. — 11 years ago
Spicy full bodied prickly beaujolais — 8 years ago
Big primitivo from Manduria grown on sandy soil! Smells almost maderized as it goes from jammy plum and raspberry to prickly pear and jalepeño jam with a twisted soy brininess emanating cedar and ripe heat! Full-bodied sasparilla reduction with a blanket of dried blackberry soaked in cola and then reduced. Over-browned coffee cake comes to mind, if the burnt sugars manifested drily with a cinnamon stick and plum reduction indelibility. The Mandurian candied-date! #primitivo #manduria #italianwines #Dunico #felline #Recemi #fruitbomb — 8 years ago
Zesty with a prickly mouthfeel. Lemon, apple with hint of hazelnut. Beautiful wine. 2009, $139 — 8 years ago
aromas show barnyard, pickle juice, leather, earth, red and black cherries, wood, redcurrant. a little smoke. smells dangerous....the mouth adds cherry, licorice, wood and earth on the palate. A prickly mineraly Burgundy from Sicily :) — 8 years ago
Small champagne tasting at Edinburgh airport. Blanc de Blanc versus regular NV. The BdB was far better in every respect; finer, more rounded, though a little short. Full of crisp cold-pressed apple juice and fine prickly bubbles. A very food-friendly low-dosage wine that cut through the Cullen Skink perfectly! — 9 years ago
Dusty minerality with a prickly palate. Very good wine. — 9 years ago

Oh yeah baby. Gimme that Brett. Gimme that funk. Nose was like horse manure and wet dog. Palate had juicy cherry fruit, sharp acidity, and almost a prickly frizzante. Barnyard is more a well integrated nuance than a dominant trait. Still quite good. — 8 years ago
Pinot Grigio with difference pineapple prickly pear, ugly fruit spicy white pepper, — 8 years ago
Red pepper ripe aroma. Black cherry and licorice. Solid, rounded Cab. Mature fruit, prickly, lush. Swishable. Drinkable. Would not buy again. Sullivan's — 8 years ago
Fresh and immediate but with lovely notes of tobacco spice and humidor, abundant fresh cherry and blueberry fruit, a nice prickly and spicy quality on the tongue with a bit of grit on the finish. Nice. — 9 years ago
I love the prickly acidity and round mouthfeel of this wine. I don't get much of a fruit character other than maybe some lime peel but very restrained to me. White pepper notes, really almost like dried alfalfa and grass. Reminiscent of a working cattle farm from youth. — 9 years ago
Floral and peach on the nose, same plus lemon and stones on the palate, with awesome prickly bubbles and super refreshing acidity. This is perfect for what it is! Everyone who drinks seltzer water should just drink this... — 10 years ago
Freezing my ass off in NYC and back at Cipriani... How many $20 bills have I palmed Fabio over the years, but he parts at least 50 people to give me the best table in the house... This Moses parting this human Red Sea greets me with two kisses and a welcome Mr. Peter... Love this guy... Anyway, Scott & Deb, two of my oldest clients join me... Deb looks exactly the way she looked 20 years ago and Scott looks great... This wine; AIA!!! Velvety, rich, dark, seductive... It's a beautiful woman in a glass... Ornellaia and Sassicaia... Two of my favorites... Still young, but oh so drinkable... — 10 years ago
Beautifully weighted Sauvignon (and I'm usually not a fan). Light on the gooseberry more towards quince & guava on the nose. Mouthwatering rather than prickly acidity with well defined lime fruit and more body than you'd expect, Kevin is a great winemaker! — 11 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
P&H was founded in 1988 by industry professionals Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz. This is my second try of the 2015, just wonderful! Aromas of fresh ripe stone fruits and flinty and floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear and sweet pineapple with savory toasty oak tones. Lingering finish ends with tangy citrus and smoky mineral notes. Outstanding. — 7 years ago
