My 2nd favorite 20 yr behind Grahams. Ramos Pinto is good as well, but seems to have to bottle to bottle variability issues…. Taylor is a great standby at a good price. — 4 years ago

Toffee and maple aromas stand out in this Colheita. Flavours of biscuit and toasted pecan emerge thereafter. The finish is vaguely like vanilla. — 6 years ago
strong raisin, punchy — 6 years ago
Better than the 2011 LBV of Taylors — 7 years ago
Pretty good with Tuxedo cake. — 7 years ago
Burnt brick red/brown on the eye. Medjool dates, dried cherries, cigar box, cedar on the nose. Palette sees more of that delicious cooked dates in butter, sweet caramelized vinegar, tart cherries, medium- acid, long, savory, buttery finish. Delightful port and love the age on this and also like that the alcohol is not overwhelming- it’s integrated into wine. Not dead yet and lots of vigor to be enjoyed! — 8 years ago
Still young, I'll keep my other '85 Taylor's cellared for at least 5 more years... — 9 years ago

[WSET D5 notes] Deep purple, medium intensity, plum, blueberry, dark floral, "Douro bake”, gamey, savory, menthol, spice, sweet, VA, fortified high alcohol, medium+ acidity, medium+ fine-grained tannins, medium+ body. Medium flavor intensity esp more spicy notes, and savory minty earthy notes. Palate shows the youth of the wine, alcohol is unbalanced. Medium+ finish. Improve with further aging bc with so much solid dominant primary fruit it will turn into more tertiary fruit with bottle age, with the structure to support aging - tannins, acidity, and sugar will allow it to evolve and integrate. — 6 years ago
Quite lovely on our first night in Portugal for the wife’s birthday! Scored 2 points higher due to the sleeping gentleman in the picture :) #firstfamilyvacation — 7 years ago
Had a bit more bite to it than the standard Ruby or Tawny versions. Also had some subtle notes of dark chocolate. — 7 years ago
A 750ML bottle of Ruby Port for $28?!? This is my new favorite “best buy” Port and I will continue drinking it! Sooo tasty — 7 years ago
The 2000 Quinta do Noval Porto Colheita Tawny is superb, showing warm and welcoming notes of caramel, dried fruit, honey, sultana along with a pinch of toast. The mind immediately jumps to pairings like stilton, Roquefort, or dried fruit, though, surprisingly the staff at Noval recommend trying it with fresh carrot, unpeeled. I love the this Port's vibrancy and balance, the palate bright, like a newly minted penny, its brimming over with walnut shells, figs, golden raisins, and spice cake. Just lovely. 20.5% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
Time is now!! Definitely ready for enjoying with some good friends and family. Nice compliment to dessert after a great meal. — 10 years ago

17.5. 1985. I expected more. But it's classic. And good balance. — 9 years ago
Very nice sweet port. — 9 years ago
Herbal like nose at beginning, spicy nose, very peppery character, at first taste it has like a metallic note but that fades away with time, round but heavy style pulls some berries and light cherry notes - an ok aged vintage port #portwineday #winelover — 10 years ago
