1988 Vintage - very decayed & perfumed nose - closed at first pour, started to open and flavors were mature but intense and exotic. Always a very restrained Aussie style that is a beauty at 27 years old - kudos to Dominique Portet who gave me this bottle. — 10 years ago
This was a new one for me...came highly recommended at the local wine shop. Bernard Portet, founder of Clos Du Val, started this label as his "retirement" project. Deep red color, slightly medium legs, and smells very ripe. Tastes of mainly red fruits (lots of cherries, raspberries) and even has a sour/tart initial taste. Well balanced on the tongue and the finish is smooth. — 9 years ago
Pleasant nose of currant and mint. Can pick up the Merlot in it on the palate. A bit of spice on the finish. Not one of your overwhelming Napa Cabs but a very nice, balanced, complex wine from Bernard Portet of Clos Du Val fame. Worth a try if you can find it no. — 10 years ago
