My tasting notes begin with "Now we're talkin!", if that tells you anything. Butter cream brioche, baked pear, frangipan, popcorn oil, mini marshmallow, cheese rind, notes of white flowers. Tart citrus and crab apple on palate, good weight and breadth, yeasty doughy character — 11 years ago
Very interesting nose - toasted coconut/popcorn. Slightly savory on the palate. — 11 years ago
Tastes like buttered popcorn — 12 years ago
Caramel popcorn, burnt orange peel, toffee. Pretty awesome. — 12 years ago

Beautiful even though not optimally cellared. Popcorn/corn nuts upon opening and the lemon peel showed up 30 minutes later. Acidity still nice and bright. — 13 years ago
This is absolutely ridiculous. One of the best chardonnays I’ve ever had...all have been from Dan! Best nose on a Chardonnay I can remember. Salted popcorn kernels, toasted brioche, sweet caramel. The palate is gorgeously textured...lingers full of savory notes and wet rock. Benchmark Chardonnay. — 8 years ago

Flinty malo finish absorbing the acidity some; white peach cotton candy popcorn element — 9 years ago
Not bad at all. Burnt popcorn and pineapple. Nice minerality. — 10 years ago
Great Chardonnay for a cozy Sunday night where you are spending patio time and serving up some pasta with a roasted garlic tomato + pumpkin sauce. Buttery, yes, but not as if you are having buttered popcorn at the theaters. Toss that beautiful pasta with some fresh basil ribbons, Parmeggiano Reggiano, ciliegine and fresh ground pepper. Happy Sunday. — 10 years ago
Sweet cream with buttered popcorn & spring flowers on nose. Vibrant & youthful with quince, pear, mineral & spice. Very balanced with a long soft finish. — 11 years ago
Light straw colored with a creamy nose. Aromas of caramel popcorn, baked peaches, smoke and honey appear. Baked peaches persist through the palate with honey and raisin notes creating almost a sherry-like style. Sweet and delicious. Would love to try in another 4-6 years. — 11 years ago
Caramel popcorn, lovely golden color — 12 years ago
Delicious, true old world style chardonnay. Rich, roasted popcorn, mineral freshness, clean and subtle. Some cross between a rich meursault and a lean chablis. — 9 years ago
Toasted cinnamon marshmallow, caramel popcorn, Mexican vanilla, floral, high acid — 10 years ago
Tastes like popcorn and toast. So homey — 10 years ago
Nicely structured, ripe lemons, salt, green apple and a little popcorn on the nose. Pretty full bodied in the mouth but with good acidity. — 11 years ago
Buttered popcorn, cream, vanilla, silky — 11 years ago
Rich, powerful and popcorn kernels... Best one I've had yet. Probably better in 10 years. — 12 years ago
More evolved, Carmel popcorn, but delicious. — 12 years ago
This was the 1997. Amazing, like wet stones and popcorn in the same wine. — 13 years ago
still drinking amazing. buttered popcorn — 14 years ago

Forgot to post these from the other day. Mark, Dan and I were able to enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the wine storage facility, and some unique stuff was opened, as always!
Don’t think I’ve ever had this PM Chardonnay. Great nose of salted popcorn kernel and the finish had a mineral & stone driven note. Hint of caramel too. Probably in its best drinking window. Thanks Dan. — 8 years ago
