Château Langoa Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

This is just a stunning wine. 2005 is still just so young and absolutely gorgeous at the same time. The nose is almost the best part.. mushroom, leather, pencil box, dark chocolate, anise, grilled meat, and tobacco - classics of St Julien. The pallet is firm and full of flavor, no where near it's plateau! Exhibiting notes of black pluma, bruised red apple skins, white pepper & clove, and a still fresh blackberry finish that lingers forever. Need some more of this! — 9 years ago

To be honest I was a little bit disappointed. .. tasted 5 years ago compare to other Saint-Julien in the same year... I need to re-taste it, present probably better. But I was impressed with their 2007 as Chateau Lagrange 07.

Intense notes of raspberries and red pluma, tobacco , dried mint, leather and more! Still very young and tannic with great length and complexity. Patience required for this fantastic wine! — 12 years ago
