Wow this delivers. Must have some stems. Round tannins. Grip. But letting go at 10 years from harvest. Nose is complex. Fun. Finish is huge. Spike of acidity carries the mid pallet. 3 hour decant and counting only helping. Might be under rating this. Need. To. Find. More. — 8 years ago
Rich and fruity. — 10 years ago
Loved both the pinot and the Syrah. Syrah is a piedrasassi 2013. Central coast. — 10 years ago
PS White 2012. As I understand it this is skin contact SB with about a year in large French oak. All I can add is; Patrician tastes and Plebian budget? Love classy white Bordeaux? Find this! — 10 years ago
Really good. Spicy and grips well. — 7 years ago
This is a 50 50 blend of Syrah and mourvedre, the latter of which was added because it doesn't ripen as quickly, a problem the growers ran into growing Syrah on their soil.
It's a very dark, opaque, purple wine. The aroma is full, raspberry, tar, rose petals, vanilla. It's really tasty, chalky and b vitamins (which I like), bright, broad tannins (if that's a thing).

The color of a hazy autumn morning. Lemon, apricot, flowers, grass, steel, soft tannins, acidity that creeps up slowly. Wonderfully unusual, complex, delish! — 10 years ago
This is one of the best values going in the world of wine. Seriously. — 10 years ago
Cranberries, blackberries, figs medium to full body, tart fruit, cinnamon, milk chocolate, olives and smoke. This wine is so pure an keeps developing. Amazingly complex. Reminiscent of Northern Rhône — 12 years ago
Bored of Sauvignon blanc? Try this. Has some body, funk and serious length. — 7 years ago
A touch funky on the nose, sour cherry and blackberry on the palate, quite tannic. As good as this is now, I might age it a bit. — 8 years ago
Sour cherries, frozen Welch's Framboise, berry pie, pie crust, thyme, sage, this wine evolved and morphed very quickly, very complex. The wild yeast comes through on the nose. Light alcohol and light body, but still very well extracted and viscous for under 14%. — 9 years ago
2009. Lacy tobacco. — 10 years ago
Layers of flavor in this 2012. Olive and black pepper. Great with our grilled steaks. Wow! — 10 years ago
Piedrasassi Rosé Central Coast 2012. Ruby magenta in color. Almost resembles the color of Jura. Bright acidity and ripe fruit with minerality. Pretty and floral. Strawberry fruit with a juicy finish. Perfect with grilled salmon. — 12 years ago
