Tried this on its own. Very nice, easy drinking. Would definitely be good with the recommendations below:
Staff Selection (Roger Clark): “This is a typical medium-bodied Tempranillo, showing both ripe and slightly dried fruit flavors along with intriguing spice notes. Because the wine is beautifully balanced to begin with, it succeeds in a number of different ways. It can be thoroughly enjoyable on its own but also try it with savory chicken and pork dishes.”

2008, Cien Y Pico, Doble Pasta Garnacha Tintorera, Manchuela. Hundred year old Grenache vines on their own rootstock. Heavy extraction and probably no fining nor filtering. Intense red and black berry flavors, countered with a lot of spice. Not your typical Grenache but very tasty. Glad I have 2 more. — 10 years ago

Volcanic Verdelho do Pico (different from the Portuguese mainland Verdelho, also known as Godello in Spain) from vineyards located on 3 different islands - Pico, Graciosa and S. Miguel- in the Azores archipelago. Not much on the nose, but this is a very nice white. 80% chard gives it boday and lit oak. 20% Favorita lightens it up to remind me of a heavy pinot grogio. Great with or without food. Yum!

Very nice white wine from the Azores. Indigenous grape, Arinto, from the Pico area. Lots of unripe citrus peel and stone on the nose. Mouth filling and precise with excellent acid and a long finish.
