If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain...there is no other way to say it other than you should have this in your white rotation whatever you are doing. Northern rhone white, including this very classic beauty, is always a good reminder that something very different, hedonic, and pleasureful is happening right now. And it doesn't need partners at the table. It just needs a glass. Acid, mineral, butter, a whiff of turkey, tropical fruits galore. — 10 years ago

Amarillo pajizo con sutiles destellos dorados. Piña, bollería y lima en nariz. De entrada amable, envolvente y a la vez fresco. Vida por delante. — 8 years ago
Very dark purple, almost black, totally opaque, no sediment. Medium+ viscosity, medium staining. Pepper, tobacco, cherries, tea, cocoa on the nose. Palette has a long finish with sour cherries, raspberries. Medium+ acid, balanced round tannins, light mouthfeel. This was a real treat- big, bold, balanced and surprisingly fruity Napa cab. — 9 years ago
I may have opened this a day early, though the extreme piña colada/pineapple notes in the nose seem more Caribbean than Cinch De Mayo. I was expecting some funky/natural wine but this was appropriately pale, pretty clean and robust in body.
If the cutting edge of Spain is based in mid 90's California, this is your gateway drug. — 10 years ago
Shift in style for 2013 chardonnay is apparent. Gone is the lavish buttery character--this is just gorgeous. Nose is very Chassagne-Montrachetesque: piña colada, orange blossom, pomaceous fruit soar in the glass, full creamy palate balanced by perfect acidity, nice mineral-coated mouthfeel with a bite reminiscent of green pear w skin on. Finishes with power and finesse. A+. — 10 years ago
A slightly weird grape that's working well in Virginia. Explosive piña colada on the nose. Palate has bright acidity and plenty of tropical fruit with green apple and white pepper. Finish lingers...and I wish I had more...a lot more! — 11 years ago
Columbia Valley. Bold tropical flavors balanced by bright acidity. Melón, Piña y Guayaba combinan con notas cítricas y vainilla en boca. Disfrutando con una ensalada de pollo en El Valle Antón. — 12 years ago

2006 - nose: wow! Almost piña colada-ish. That may be the mineral attempting to burst through. Still the tropicana aspect is there. Palate: really great mouth feel, great. Sour apple, clean, acid sticks around for a while.... Great Riesling. — 10 years ago
