Nearly opaque dark ruby color with kirsh, baked blueberry and blackberries, vanilla and a bit of eucalyptus, and leather aromas. On the palate it's big, broad and hedonistic with good acidity and a very supple texture it shows bright baked blueberry, vanilla, baked cherry flavors. Long finish! Damned tasty! — 12 years ago

A delight. Deep with some minerality... tannic but not biting... very drinkable, but not boring at all. Managed to complement octopus with Calabrian chiles just as well as pappardelle with morels in butter sauce. Som. mentioned the fruit's soil had a volcanic ash to it. $70 at Babbo. — 11 years ago
