Drinking with Chris on our honeymoon - last night in Rome. Goes down really smooth and easy to drink. — 8 years ago
Flavors of ripe cherry, leather, plenty of tannins and good finish. Tried it with some chocolate, was actually pretty good. — 9 years ago
Tannin rich and heady on the nose - this is a serious orange wine for red wine fans. — 9 years ago
Great for a pre-meal drink! No oak, dry with a clean finish. — 10 years ago
Many layers, tannins need to blow off a bit, opens wonderfully — 11 years ago
Superb herbal, mineral, dark red fruit, long finish. — 9 months ago
Deep ruby hue. Notes of blackberry, olives, pepper, and tar. Full tannins and high acidity. Superb with meats. — 2 years ago
Comparing two 2010 Sagrantino di Montefalcos. Both opened for an hour first. I thought the Adanti was a bit softer and more aromatic at first. But the Perticaia had more structure, depth and complexity. Decanted the Perticaia for dinner (only have one decanter) and it improved even more. In the past I thought the Adanti had quite a tannic punch. That has faded over the 3 years since I last opened one. — 3 years ago
Nice light, floral bouquet. Some may take this wine as one dimensional due to the prominent pear. But definitely has notes of almond and vanilla with pineapple in the aftertaste. Crisp, with medium acidity. Great by itself, excellent with seafood. — 5 years ago
Beautifully perfumed with spice and dried flowers and earth. Tannins have mellowed since last bottle a little over a year and a half ago, though still grippy on the sides of the mouth. — 7 years ago
Nice hot day today and the cool white wine was just the ticket . Medium acidity and beautiful notes of fresh fruit and flowers had it with pork and will buy this one again and again — 8 years ago

Opened and decanted shortly before dinner; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 pours a very rustic looking, deep straw bordering gold color; medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes bruised and dried fruits: dried apricot, bruised yellow apple, candied oranges, yellow flowers, herbaceous (rosemary?), and old wood. And yet there’s a freshness there that is undeniable. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannin and medium + acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is very long. Another vintage of Lapideus and another beauty from Giampiero. These wines make me think and each time I get to enjoy one, I’m reminded of why wine can be so special. Drink now through 2029. High QPR! Goes well with many foods but especially any simple Italian fare. One of my go to Italian wines. It’s nice to go beyond Tuscany or Piedmonte. — 8 months ago
