Perfect payoff after a very long day. Dry and carbonic. I'll probably drink the whole bottle myself. — 10 years ago
Really old but stored properly and payoff was a superb wine from the late 80’s. Early days of Napa have awarded them a great reputation. — 7 years ago
Needed few hours time to open in decanter. Payoff was serious meaty gamey umami earthy fruit. Delicious! — 8 years ago
I'm not a burgundy expert but this was sensational. I'm more a new world Pinot person, but this showed me It will payoff if I spend time learning about the complexity of the Burgundy region. — 9 years ago
This wine just sang - ready to drink with a depth rarely found on this continent - a huge payoff for waiting to open — 9 years ago
I have several of these and couldn't resist trying, forewarned it needed decanting several days. (If I store it, I wanna know the payoff and also educate my wine prognosticatorship). Saturday: Day one: tight but showing gifts (duh). Set aside. Day two: oh Oh!! Flowery structure, warmth, a bit of (good) horseshit. Day 3 (planned with beef) warm, integrated and lovely. Ok, now I can let the rest sleep. Come by in a decade, and if I like the menu... — 10 years ago
Just a wonderful Magnum of Mouvedre this is where the payoff of waiting for a bottle to come to its peak is all worth it ! — 12 years ago
Is there a 2013 barolo with a broader range of reviews than the wines of Giacomo Fenocchio?? One reviewer says don’t bother, one reviewer says they have decades of amazement yet to come. I certainly look forward to finding out which one is right! The Giacomo Fenocchio 2013 canubbi has an elegant floral quality that is extremely appealing. There is strong spice to go along with the, at this stage, tightly wound fruit. I think there is potential for a big payoff and I look forward to seeing where this one goes over the next decade. — 7 years ago
This is not your Frenchman's cab franc. Super ripe dark berries, tons of booze, intensely concentrated flavor, dusty tannins, a dash of sweet spice. Long finish of ripe, concentrated fruit, but boy that booze hits the nostrils and stays there. Needs decanting. Quite a payoff once it airs out though. — 9 years ago
Still a little. Awkward but has potential. Nice fruit and acid may be indicative of a payoff after time in cellar. — 10 years ago
Decanted only 20 mins and the big payoff is the complex nose with ripe olives dominant. Great integration and not sure If it can get better going forward. — 10 years ago
A reserved nose with a payoff worth the wait, also from .375 — 11 years ago

What a payoff from a few years of cellaring this wine. Love the weight and texture of this wine, very aromatic, all dark cherry and spice, love the silky palate and the long satisfying finish. Nice match for our stellar crab cakes! — 6 years ago
