The Basic QbA Riesling from a good grower should always be a very good wine that also ages well. Case in point here. This 13-year old has another decade of aging potential. I believe the vineyard village here is Wehlen. The fruit is fresh and would be convincing as a feinherb, and the balanced structure is appropriately firm. — 5 years ago

3rd and final Bohn bottle. ✨ Magical aged Riesling. Glad we saved the best for last! Subtle petrol fragrance, strong acidity, dried apricot, golden raisin, almond, sherry. Quite complex. I’ve never had a Riesling quite like this. It was great with lemon-Parmesan risotto, crispy mushrooms, and balsamic chicken. 13.5% abv, lager-colored. — 5 years ago

Tasted six German Rieslings today, all at the QbA and Kabinett level, and this baby rose up and shined her beautiful light. Very floral with jasmine and honeysuckle balancing out the white peach and stony minerality. It was a textural lap dance on the palate, sexy and exciting with the perfect amount of tension. Nice wine brand to explore. In the voice of Pauly Shore “astrological... buddy”.

Needs 3 hr decant (journey along the way was very interesting, with lots of plot twists, and interesting views).

Nice fruit level, red and dark berry, black plum, persimmon (?mushiness on the tip of tounge?), rocks, cement, bitter, medium tannin.

I’m getting a real taste for these delicious aged rieslings. This is the second bottle of this vintage I’ve had, and man - it was rocking. It’s in such a perfect place right now. Ripe acidity balanced with the sweetness of honey, caramel apple, brûlée’d peach, kerosene and lilac flower. I’m making a mental note to buy more for the cellar.
