Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2000

BG barbaresco leads the pack. Round, rich, earthy, and full bodied. Great balance for the grape. Black cherry, cedar, and dried fruit. While not a top vintage, a benchmark that’s in its drinking window. St. Stephen will remain... — 7 years ago

Falletto di Serralunga D'Alba Barolo Nebbiolo 2014

Way too much new oak and feels overextracted. Can’t get past the oak on the nose and hides the fruit on the palate at this point. — 8 years ago

barbera and brachetto -- a really funky, pickley (in a good wine) and peppery bottle.

Super soft for some reason. Lots of vanilla almost like it was really Napa Valley Oaked up which seems unlikely given large boti? — 9 years ago

Some of the happiness may indeed be because I've been a little to Californian lately. Occupational hazard. This has got pretty violet aromas mixed with herbal notes of pine and faint rosemary. Palate reflects aromas, adding dried cranberries, leather and tobacco notes. Good tannic grip. — 12 years ago
