Very pretty and floral, with some slight earthiness below. More open than expected. Essence of Chambolle and excellent village wine. — 7 years ago

Crazy good village GC Burg! Best slightly chilled. Red fruit, smooth but muscular. With a distinct spice box on the finish and enough acidity to still be refreshing. — 7 years ago

Mes Cinq Terroirs Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2015

2015 vintage at home. Super star effort on a village wine. Young vines, can’t wait to drink this when the vines are old. So difficult to get this domaine, so good and only six bottles. Can age considerably but is round, tasty, juicy tannins and good acidity with good aging potential. Fruit bomb but with perfect definition and elegance. What a waste of a life but Arnaud has taken over and did not miss a beat. — 7 years ago

Keuka Village White Blend 2016

Friday night random whites...
Fresh, clean and refreshing, light White peach notes. Nose is attractive, but a little too cold on first taste, so slightly closed initially.
Off-dry blend of NY's Finger Lakes region Cayuga & Vignoles, nose is really opening up nicely with some air and warming of the wine in the glass. Not overly complex, but this is a solid buy for the $10/$13 (wine club/retail) price.

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2013

This is a little bit behind the village Morey in development. Which is to say it shows similarly to the way the Morey did the first time I had it, but it's not as good as the Morey was the last time I had it, when it had really opened up and picked up a rich, voluptuous texture that transcended the village level. This one's not quite there yet, as it's still a bit disjointed with the cedary oak poking out, but there is a nice layer of plummy fruit underneath. — 8 years ago
