Parras Del 43

Santa Helena

Parras Viejas Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Beautiful red Bordeaux colour, intense aromas of black fruits, plum, cacao, blackberries. Need to be decanted to enjoy all the extended palette of aromas and flavours. Well balance and structure. Long persistence in mouth with a long final. Is like a silk in mouth — 11 years ago

Grapefruit, tart citrus, more minerality. Amazing amount of freshness and liveliness on the palate. 43% chard, 43% pinot noir, 15% pinot meunier — 11 years ago

Casa Madero

Casa Grande Seleccion de Barricas Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Had the 2011 last night at Las Ventanas al Paraiso (Rosewood) in Los Cabos. This plus their 2013 Chardonnay were amazing. Loving my Mexican wines. Low alcohol, nice distinguished fruit. This was classic Stags Leap style. — 11 years ago

Saint Clair Family Estate

Pioneer Block 3 - 43 Degrees Sauvignon Blanc Dillons Point Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Pale straw colour with hints of green apple. A bouquet of tropical fruits with some herbaceousness and again that green apple edge. Juicy lemon, melon and grapefruit flavours with a light mineral edge and perhaps some dry herbs on the finish. Not overly acidic and although initially quite concentrated it opened up quite quickly. Worth noting that the vineyard's tasting notes advise drinking it within the first 2 years of release. Overall a good value, if atypical, Marlborough (which we found in Costco) though alas not at all to my wife's taste! — 11 years ago
