This wine is stupid good. Nice and crisp with great acidity and some green fruit. Perfection with mussels and skate wing. A must have — 9 years ago
Meaty, leathern, thick skinned dark fruit, and guinea fowl packed with the rosemary, sage and cystes that pulses through the garrigue of Châteauneuf du Pape terroir. Extraordinary to think this is CDP proper -comprised of each and every permitted variety. Extraordinary and beckoning for game off the wing or hoof. — 10 years ago
One of my favorite wine, I had this with pizza and Wing. blackberry and beautiful fruit aroma on nose, silky and black currant on the palate — 10 years ago
Very nice, balanced blend. Pretty nose of lemon, pear, stone. Enough acid to stand up to skate wing with brown butter and capers. Even better day 2, showing apricot along with still solid acidity. — 11 years ago
I suppose you call this an upside down GSM. 50% Syrah and a lot of Mourvèdre with a great Grenache backbone. We paired this with a skate schnitzel. Heavy enough for the fried and light enough for the delicate skate wing. A clear winner. — 11 years ago
Excellent blend for mixed company. — 11 years ago
This vintage is nothing to scoff at. Red Wing boots patina SO well -wabisabi lives on! All that aside: even a twelve year old Alsatian Pinot Gris is stunning with chamomile, apricots and poached pears and wildflower honey... — 12 years ago
Newly arrived 2012 vintage, clear as crystal and bright as ever. 100 year old Grenache Blanc and Gris. Pear and stony minerality. Perfect with skate wing meunière. — 12 years ago
It is Eagles Wing Nectar!!! Very good!!! — 13 years ago

Like a sea salt butterscotch caramel. Superb with a skate wing. — 9 years ago
This is one of the most gossamer red wines I have ever had. The physical material is so delicate it feels almost fragile, like a butterfly's wing. The color is a pale brick and the fruit autumnal and completely beyond the primary. For a time it has me wondering whether this is just a little too "natural" (read: sans SO2) to keep a grip on its material. But even as it conveys that sense of physical fragility and seems like it could start to crack up, it never does. To the contrary, it seems to compose itself more and more the longer it's open. The scents segue from an early whiff of chemical funk to more appealing earthy funk to stuff that's more dominantly fruity, though not sweet primary fruit - still in that autumnal family, mulled apples, etc. And the physical body remains so lightweight it's a wonder it's even there. — 10 years ago
Interesting wine. Brett is super dominant at first, with reductive notes in the wing. With some decanting, the franc notes begin to emerge--pretty roses, graphite, dried cranberries, and raspberries join the bandaid party. Fun share for the right crowd! — 11 years ago
Not transparent, main hue is composed of garnet with a little rouge or bricks color. Sticky.
First impression come with the scents of blackberries, dried tomato, cassis, black ink, pencil, black pepper and spices. Then mild nuance of barrel, oil, nuts, almond, with flowery hint of lily.
Mild and good sweetness, rich fruitiness, fine acid and not heavy tannin. Juicy, spicy and comfort style.

Chinese Dinner at Wing Lei with a very American wine! — 9 years ago
Deep brooding spicy autumnal party delight. Was not expecting this. Bat wing cellared cumin infused rubber asparagus fire. That's the whole enchilada. With a smidge of dark cocoa/maple infusion. If you want real deal Holyfield - take a breath...then buy this wine. — 10 years ago
Pairs nice with dark chocolate and pub style BBQ wing popcorn — 10 years ago
Wonderful balance, with tropical fruit and subtle use of oak. Paired nicely with our creative buffalo wing sauce with blue cheese. — 11 years ago
