Good desert wine - tart and sweet — 9 years ago
Color is pale pink, moving to orange at the rim; shows much, much more age then its two years. Smell is instantly earthy, with some alcohol and some fruit, and very slight background of oak; again, nose suggests age, so maybe this bottle has benefited from its improper storage. Taste confirms oak and really brings out the fruit, most prominent for me is raisin; medium acid with light tannins and dry, earthy finish. Delicious and balanced. This is the best American wine I've had at this price (about $19) — 10 years ago

Very nice desert wine from what I remember — 11 years ago
Nice mature Virginia wine. Dark fruit, peppery tobacco, smooth, firm finish. — 11 years ago
Excitingly juicy and salivatingly acidic. Has tart cherry flavors and a port finish. — 11 years ago
Soft round red, delightful with any meal. Pinot Noir & Cinsault blend. Amazing!! — 8 years ago
Cool Grenache! Looks red/orange-brown in the glass and drinks with lots of acid and restrained cran fruit. Not boring like many Grenache - almost like a California frappato. D&m before camp trip — 9 years ago
Tastes tropical via intense apricot flavor and high acid. — 9 years ago
Floral with red rose petals and violet. Both red and black berries, plum. M acid, body and tannin. Not overly oaked. Fresh and balanced. — 10 years ago
Earthy, spicy, peppery, strawberry and cedar. Excellent wine from DuCard, as usual. — 10 years ago
We are so pleased to welcome Horton Norton back to our table. This was a young, 2014 Norton, and given about 30 minutes to open up, it really was lovely. Fruit up front, gorgeous color, plum and tart cherry flavor. Wow. Was AMAZING with a beef and butternut squash stew. — 10 years ago
Nice orange peel and rose petal flavor. Definitely a leaner rose' and very refreshing. Margerum makes such great stuff. — 11 years ago
Showed classic notes of Verna's vineyard. With olive tapenade and bramble berries. There also was a note of orange peel on the nose. Serious amount of salinity in the palate. — 11 years ago
Love this. It's what a Chardonnay should be. Creamy and oaky with a lovely mandarin orange finish. — 12 years ago
Floral with white peach and intensely exotic melon; quite a robust body; clean medium acidity and well-developed mouthfeel. Great value! — 8 years ago
Great age, honey suckle, orange peel, grapefruit. The vintage is great. — 9 years ago
Ok bought 1 bottle on-line from K& L wines after i had this camping in Big Sur. Barnyard for sure some Brettanomyces but in a good way. Tastes young/light and ridiculously fresh i doubt it will gain weight over time. Cinnamon and concord grapes. A fantastic barbecue drink now wine i think lamb sausages would be great. Pricy but unique so if you want a low % Pinot which tastes old world like in the Santa Barbara region this is your ticket but alas i will review the Tatomer pinot's next week. — 9 years ago
Drained. Fastest pour of the night. — 10 years ago
I can't call it a port but it's the closest I've had that I've liked in VA! — 10 years ago
Apple, lemon, honey, slate, hay and dried apricot. Good acidity and balance. — 10 years ago
Best SB County/ orange label to date from Babcock Winery. And can't beat the price! — 11 years ago
Different. Well balanced, nice acidic notes, with a slight smokey finish. — 11 years ago
The very pale color is not too inviting - but don't stop after a glance. The nose send showers of vanilla peaches out in a cloud of soft oak scents. On the palate, rich peach and pear mix with a slight taste of orange peel. The acidity is striking, and a citrus note clings to the lengthy, delicious finish. — 11 years ago
Nice clean wine, acidity and touch of RS. — 12 years ago
