Odd plastic aroma quickly blew off. ~30 mins of decanting and this was showing incredibly. Honey-like aroma and taste, a touch of salinity, just beautiful. The drinking window was pretty short as it started to lose its edge after about an hour and a half. — 8 years ago
Bright ruby red. Bramble berries on the nose with a little bit of black fruit and an odd not that is almost like Chilean guava. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Dark berries and woody notes. Slightly plush mid palate. Long bodied and slightly thins out. Solid drinkable cabernet. Drink till 2019. — 8 years ago
First time tasting this rose. It was delightful on a warm afternoon — 9 years ago
Mindfuk wine, odd fino sherry nose, oceanspray pink grapefruit , VA — 9 years ago
Odd field blend. Unusual flavors. A bit funky to begin, but it developed with air time. A bit of prunishness. — 9 years ago
Frankly: I am surprised at how dynamic and Mâcon this is at 6+ years! It was said and chirpy as only wines with dry extract can be. Delicious with roasted potato leek soup -especially in this odd season between an Indian Summer and that penetrating November rain. Great tension here. — 9 years ago
Interesting and quite complex wine, rich and good with cheeses. Bought at odd bins? — 10 years ago
Great odd variety. Not too heavy but offers complexity — 10 years ago
Warm and toasty with a menthol finish. Odd but nice. — 11 years ago
Funky. Hey-ey with an odd nose but lasted forever — 8 years ago
Great color. Nose presents wet orchard. Almost buttery first sip. Tart cherry cream draw. Full mouth coating. Incredible flavor that can stand up- but has a delicate sense. Odd combo. — 8 years ago
I love Seavey wines and think their Merlot is one of the best in Napa. Deep red with a slightly brown/orange rim. The nose is beautiful and I'm hit right away with cherry compote and brioche (which to me is odd for a red). The entry is silky smooth and fruit-driven with flavors of blueberries and cherries. Soft tannins and medium acidity balance out the wine for a long finish. — 8 years ago
Dry white refreshing distinctive wine. Accessible without odd tastes and it's made from organic wines. — 9 years ago
A touch of VA. Wood and leather. Good structure. Menthol. Better on the nose, but a bit odd intense. From mag — 9 years ago
Such an unusual and delicious wine. Definitely a food wine. A bit odd to drink as a stand alone. But absolutely perfect with a roast chicken with orange slices and a rosemary/sage/thyme bundle. — 9 years ago
Very odd in the beginning. Blew off early. Melted in my mouth. — 10 years ago
Seemed maybe a bit beyond its day... had a bit of an odd aroma. But still good and interesting! ... day 2: wow, much nicer. Changed my rating. Opening up recommended! — 10 years ago
Excellent depth and complexity. Odd dark ruby color. Stock photo — 8 years ago
Plenty of life left in this baby. May be at an odd point in its life but it's very complex and bright. Complex flavors and aromas ranging from wild berries to citrus peel, forest floor and spice. — 8 years ago
One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!

Chalky and mineral on the nose but with rich, velvety fruit on the palate, some malolactic and a long, pleasantly odd finish that leaves a hint of nectarine rind on the tongue along with lingering notes of...bubblegum? Cotton candy? Not sweet, but there's something unexpected and candy-like in that ballpark... — 9 years ago
Still ruby but with brickish red rims. At first an odd nose but with air this became flamboyant with mushroom notes and odd dusty fruit. With air more complexity and some sour cherries and soy. Long finish. This wine is controversial but not tonight, it's outstanding. — 9 years ago
2012 - outstanding aromas of curry spice and dark berry fruit, really seductive. Odd then that the palate doesn't quite follow through, there's plenty of fruit but it's a little lean and the strong jasmine tea notes in the tannins are just out of balance. Could be indicative of the 2012 vintage, even the Akarua from that year was not mind blowing. Still a very fine effort, I could happily sit sniffing away at the glass for hours. $47.95 at LCBO — 9 years ago
2009. Deep golden, almost brownish hue. Some odd aromas (black olive?) on opening, but was beautiful after a 2-3 hour decant. $62 from Astor Wines, New York. — 10 years ago
Fleeting n the palate. Good finish. Could be in an odd place. More cerebral than pleasurable. — 11 years ago
Lars Miller
What an odd wine...smelled and tasted strongly of barnyard, although once you get past that it's quite enjoyable. Like riding a horse...stinky and leathery, but exhilarating. Very fruity and wild. — 7 years ago
