Shimmering magenta. Expressive red/blue fruit and licorice aromas show excellent clarity and pick up mineral and exotic spice flourishes as the wine opens up. Broad and fleshy on entry, offers concentrated boysenberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors that tighten up and become sweeter with air. Moussé is known for its Pinot Meunier yet this is 100% Chardonnay from a vineyard that was not well suited for Meunier due to the particularly deep soil. I found this to be a delight with lemon-lime citrus of tremendous precision. Minerals like it was San Pellegrino and a long finish. More chiseled than rich. So refreshing.
