Just to be clear, my friend Paul and my husband both HATED this wine. And I think they're totally wrong. This wine is walking home in the rain past neighbors homes and they all have a fire in the fireplace. It's purple-grey and smoky and full of aching nostalgia, eager to get home and warm up in front of the fire. So soft and wet and lush. I wish they tasted what I did. — 9 years ago
10 for nostalgia, goes well with beaches. — 9 years ago
Impressive at 36 years. Apparent fruit, good acid. Rating based on the day and wine at the time. Candidly, nostalgia influenced somewhat. — 9 years ago
Sharp small bubbles. Mean and delicious. Maybe it's nostalgia. I love it. — 9 years ago
Strong minerality and petrol up front. Lively on front of tongue. Honey and stone fruit. Mild floral notes. Bright and drinking well in 2015. 2012 vintage. Excellent. Flew back from Germany same day and popped this for nostalgia. — 10 years ago
Chardonnay from Barolo? Yup! Rating may be slightly skewed by nostalgia from having drank it in the vineyard. — 10 years ago
Nostalgia in a glass. — 11 years ago
One of the best Italian Pinot Grigios. Nick and I drank it a lot in Italy so there is some nostalgia as well! Definitely recommend this one. — 12 years ago
Black fruit, sour cherry, prune, and nostalgia. — 7 years ago
Bonus points for nostalgia, for sure. Still love the menthol/eucalyptus as an herbacial element — 9 years ago
The last sip already induced nostalgia, gamey big flavour but precise acidity — 9 years ago
Lots of nostalgia in this bottle. — 10 years ago
Ripe red cherries, vanilla, tobacco spice, herbal notes, nice acidity and tannins. Legs for days. Brings back nostalgia of the cherry-vanilla flavored Swisher Sweets I smoked in high school to make myself feel cool. — 10 years ago
Wild Vines outta mugs in Cameron Highlands. Nostalgia night :) — 11 years ago
Like walking into a Ukrainian grocery store, for me. I love the nose on it. Meaty, like ham and maybe a hint of some aged hard cheeses in there, too. Such nostalgia. — 8 years ago
Nostalgia! — 9 years ago
Fantastic- the bottle smells like the antique store in Pipestone MN- old wood floors, iron farm implements kept in a barn for decades with old grease, fertile earth and animal essence. Probably not a sommelier-certified description, but reflective of my nostalgia and love of this bottle. — 9 years ago
Visited this quaint vineyard on a trip to Italy years ago...always love the Badia a Coltibuono, maybe more for nostalgia than anything else, but certainly yummy regardless. Think other vintages are superb. First time trying this one. — 9 years ago
Take a gander at the meniscus of this Monterey County Chard! Could tell it would be full of playful honeysuckle flavors right away. Nostalgia in a bottle, absolutely superb. — 10 years ago
Connecticut white wine, so it's got that going for it. Kinda sweet though. Nostalgia value is through the roof, not an every day white though. — 10 years ago

Four varieties- Zinfandel, Barbera, Grenache and Carignane; no Pinot noir this vintage. Purple red, dense but not inky. Butter, cherry and barrel notes in nose with hints of menthol and barnyard funk. Butter, cherry flavor with length; raspberry, blueberry (and later plum) finish, slightly soapy mouthfeel, almost but not quite hot, citric aftertaste. Good acid, minimal bitterness but lots of tannin sediment (unfiltered). Moderate skin astringency. Needs time to open. Definitely a food wine. Like the old school immigrant-family rustic reds one used to get decades ago in NorCal, but better made, with finesse. And it's got soul, so get your nostalgia on — 7 years ago
