Less than 350 cases, Guigal hermitage old clone of Syrah aka Serine with some Viognier. Lieu-dit La Viallière meaning special soils of decomposed schist and gneiss. No chemicals, natural yeasts, and Demi-muids/ new wood barrels. Ruby garnet color with aromas of bacon, cherry, rose petals while silky on the palette with some herbal notes on the finish. Medium to full body. — 10 years ago
nice dry red that has a hint of natural sweetness, all around good red wine — 11 years ago
Apple and pear with umami. A natural sweetness that doesn't get tiring. Dessert pairing an obvious choice but great as appetizer. — 11 years ago
Drinking local tonight - so local and podunk that Delectable doesn't even recognize it. 😁 — 12 years ago
Cave man Riesling from northern Spain. Fermented in natural carved rock. — 13 years ago
This is a fantastic Côte Rôti from this Natural producer, the standard wine but crazy delicious. — 10 years ago
There’s a lot of wine being made in California and abroad that is, in theory, similar to this wine… Extremely old vines of obscure varietals, natural production and so on. However, in this case, winemakers Pax Mahle and Loren Grossman have delivered something that shines brighter than the rest - including their other labels.
Titular “Pax” wines have a similar sense of spice, animal and force, but often lack the subtly found here. His other label “Wind Gap” capitalizing on the trend of hardly ripened fruit to give the wine telling minerality and that mouth-puckering tart freshness at the expense of body. All of which is also evident in this wine, but much more balanced and slowly revealed.
This wine is sexy and nimble, but has depth and a sense of place. Reminiscent of Northern Rhone but less narrowly focused. It’s all you can ask for from California. They only made about 100 cases, and it retails for under 40 dollars. We have 9 bottles left at Joy Wine & Spirits, come in and get it. — 10 years ago
Vintage 2003.
Nice rounded and velvety but not opulent at all...
A natural deposit has revealed itself over time. Served with a piece of deer with creamy potatoes and fried field mushrooms... — 11 years ago
Drank next to the 1998 Napa valley Viognier - Joseph Phelps. Perfect example of Condrieu with little or no signature of the maker. This is a pure and honest terroir capture. Everything is in perfect balance here. Fresh and flowery, minimal minerals. This girl is completely all natural, no make-up, no fancy clothes. She dresses in all white, drinks tea, and tends to the jasmine bushes. Classical love. — 11 years ago
OK...now I get why soo many wine lovers are smitten with the Rhone region...
Earthiest, terroir driven, most seductive wine I've tasted in years... With steep vines, organic (natural fermentations, no new oak) Terroir is apparent. Dark berry fruit, and violet flowers on nose and palate strong mineral note and some acidity. Mix dark dark berry, blackberries much. Yum. Find this wine... Chin Chin — 11 years ago

Tastes very natural - surprising! One of the final Trollat vintages. — 13 years ago
Souhaut for the win. Always a great choice drinking these pure, natural wines — 10 years ago
A lovely financial planning and analysis study wine. This is a delightful go to, with fresh tannins, dark fruit, a tinge of pepper balanced by medium acidity and grapes grown from natural techniques. No chemicals, no pesticides. Hand harvested, 12 months of aging and 100% Syrah. — 10 years ago
I love this wine. It's got this great fresh juicy blackberry component balancing against a ton of meaty, peppery funkiness. Not a big wine, this syrah is more about the fun acidity than the structure. #natural #organic #minimalSO2 #louisdressner — 10 years ago

More soft light floral summer sippers, to me the best value/quality natural wine in the Rhone. Is it gamay and Syrah together? — 11 years ago
2009 vintage. One of my favourite producers of this wonderful wine. Medium ruby hue. Red plum fruits - plums and raspberries. The spice of a good Spatburgunder. The oak add some sweet spice to the natural savoury spice of the base wine. On the palate, medium body and medium plus flavour concentration. Medium alcohol. High acidity. Great length. More black fruited in the mouth and delicious spice. A very good quality wine, bordering on outstanding. Slightly lacking in body and concentration but otherwise very balanced. Really yummy. NB: after an hour, the wine has gone very tertiary: leather, mushroom and forest floor - rustic, but very appealing. — 11 years ago
Fantastic balance of oak and distinct northern Shenandoah soil fruit...slight bit of banana emerges within the creamy body! 2011 to boot ;) — 12 years ago
Natural wine, lots of sediment and good tannins in front gums. Slightly dry. — 12 years ago

The new generation of Northern Rhone winemakers. A very delicate Condrieu offering great complexity - that mid palate delivering orange pulp and juice literally got me goosebumps- and textbook natural acidity finale, layered by ripe fruit. Humbling and impressive. #symbioseimportations — 10 years ago
