Sometimes they pour you a dark mug of liquid lunch and you are surprised by how light and fruity a porter can be. And then you realize that you ordered the Brunch Weasel Oatmeal Stout at Mikkeller, and dense, coffeecake richness punches you in the mouth. At 10.5% abv, this Norwegian craft brew has all the decadence of your champagne brunch, but darker, denser, and screaming for a scoop of ice cream. — 10 years ago
My all time favorite Anchor beer, and the one they have been since April 18, 1975, it is why I am reviewing this beer now, Fourth of July coming up, it was really to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Paul Revere's historical ride, and it is also my birthday, April 18th, but back to the brewery and this beer, if you did not know, Anchor Brewery is the very first craft breweries in the USA, when they brewed this beer it was the very first American IPA's some today call it a American Pale Ale, it is brewed with cascade whole cone hops, with a rich malt backbone, by today's standards it seems quite mild, not over hoppy, nor bitter, super well balanced, I love this beer and one of my personal favorites, been drinking this since 1978, It is a true classic that had held up so well, excellent beer all around, pairs with just about any food, and just great tasting, I am a little basis on this, so I give it the highest grade, just because it really was the very first IPA in America and for me, and the price is dirt cheap for such a well made beer from a Outstanding Pioneer brewery — 10 years ago
This beer is my jam. Just lovely. Light on the palate but a little heavy on the belly with a meal. — 10 years ago
Craft beer? — 10 years ago
A True Classic, if you are into Belgium beers, you know this brew, there are better ones out in the last 15 years or so, but this like many early American craft breweries is a landmark in the beer world — 11 years ago

This, TO ME, is Pliny the Elder's rival for top West coast IPA! This is definitely my new favorite beer and I haven't been in the mood for an IPA for about a year until this. A must try for craft beer enthusiasts. — 10 years ago
Florida Man makes excellent craft beer: Jai Alai IPA from Cigar City Brewing in Tampa. — 10 years ago
Great natural craft beer...the cloudy pour reminds me of Belgian natural yeasty draft...not too much citrus but still crisp with a depth that lingers... — 10 years ago
This cab shows so purely old school Sonoma - I love it! The fruit/acid is bright but toning as it opens and the oak and tannins magic appears going silky plum with enough brightness to let it work with bresaola, manchego, cremont, dark no to low salt olives and raw almonds Morehead City, NC's premier wine, cheese, charcuterie, craft beer hang - The Prominise' Land Market! Go there! (amazing price point on this delicious Sonoma cab!) — 10 years ago

Was very excited to finally get this in my area, on the west coast, Founders is a highly regarded craft brewery on the east coast, Grand rapids Michigan, heard so many great reviews on their beers, KBS, Double Trouble, so go into this review I expected quite a lot, I must say I am not disappointed, but here on the west coast we have much better IPA's, not putting this beer and the east coast down, hey, that is where I was born and raised, this brew is typical a east coast beer, brewed like a west coast beer, dry hopped with only Centennial hops, very much a staple hop on the west coast, Cascade hops on crack, so to speak, so I am very familiar with this hop character and taste, fruity, Citrus, back end has that tobacco finish, extremely dry, a very well done IPA, I am not disappointed, Founders deserves the high rating they get with their beers, I really can see why people on the east coast love this beer, they are seeking on hoppy beer that sometimes they cannot get from the west coast, Very good, I with be waiting for some more from this great brewery, KBS, and Double Trouble on my list — 9 years ago
Very good beer! Fresh, lime, fruity! — 10 years ago
I would classify this under "refreshing." Tons of IPAs are bold, sock you in the nose hoppy. This backs off the IBUs just slightly and adds a slight fruity/lemony finish that is, well, refreshing. I feel sorry for everyone who doesn't live in California and likely can't get their hands on nice craft brews like this. — 10 years ago
Always a favourite! — 10 years ago
A wonderful craft beer. Has the taste of an easy to drink lager but with a mild and not too overpowering fruitiness. — 10 years ago
Very smooth stout craft beer. Chocolate and coffee notes, but not a heavy beer — 11 years ago
Craft beer night in #London. This is crazy & incredibly good. Crazily fruity. — 11 years ago
Kagua Japanese craft beer brewed with Sanshō Japanese pepper and Yuzu. Umami in a bottle! — 11 years ago
Big kudos here, to the vintners, for providing just a little spice on the nose introducing flavors that present smoothly right after pulling the cork and results in big ole mouthful of jammy red fruit covering the entire palate with proper tannins and an easy finish resonating trails of what started as it drifts down one's throat. I found this, very affordable, yet right-on red wine at Promise Land Market (top-notch craft beer and wine bar that has become my fall hang while back home in Morehead City, NC; checkout the superb yet casual charcuterie). All a delight! (especially the people; come and see...) — 11 years ago

I don't even like craft beer. But this is very good. What beer is supposed to be. A drink not a bread smoothie. — 9 years ago
