Niepoort and Raúl Pérez: good wine — 6 years ago
Energetic Syrah. Reminded me a bit of a Raul Perez wine. — 6 years ago
Not as captivating as others — 8 years ago
From the days where Raul Perez still made a 100% pinot noir. In the more recent years of this wine he always uses Mencia in a blend with Pinot. Only 526 bottles made and one of the very few Pinot Noirs from Spain. This is nice but is slightly sharper + has more acidity then Burgundy pinots. Nevertheless a great discovery. — 9 years ago
2012 La Vizcaina - El Rapolao from Raúl Perez. An incredible wine; black pepper, incredible freshness, beautiful lift, almost dancing on the nose. The body is all elegance and freshness, while at the same time feeling plush. Very fine grained tannins. A balanced work of art. — 12 years ago
A project of Raul Perez. Old vines Mencía and 3 other indigenous varieties. Violets and cherry on the nose. Palate dominated by typical iron/blood flavor of Mencía with red fruit. Stony backbone with softer tannins. Long finish. Young but outstanding potential. This guy is a serious vintner. — 6 years ago
Ok... I admit it... this straggler Spanish Albariño lost it’s way in my cellar. 10 years old for a grape not altogether known for longevity... what do I expect? Medium gold in the glass... clear...broken cork. Amazing aroma of pineapple, lychee, and peach. The wine is still alive.. still offering up bright acidity and round weighted fruit. Poured too cold, the aromas intensify as it warms. The wine is rich, round and complex...playing with your palate. I was prepared to dump, had a lessor wine at the ready. But... hell no. This wine rocks. Mr. Perez is often referred to as a trail-blazing maverick...what do I know. The wine is a wonder! — 6 years ago
Decanted from the winefridge, deep red colour, spicy, dark fruits on the nose, taste was delicious a fantastic balanced wine from Raul Perez. — 7 years ago
Interesting wine. Kept changing and evolving in a good way. Started things off with a bit of menthol followed by blueberries, blackberries, currant and violets. Prieto Picudo’s the grape from Leon, Spain. Seek it and know it., if you can find it. You’ll be rewarded plenty by the masterful hand of Raul Perez. — 7 years ago
My first Raul Perez wine- def won't be the last. Just explodes right out of the gate- crazy nose of pomegranate, black raspberry, black pepper, some damp soil and just delicious. Buoyant and energetic with soft tannins and truly mouthwatering acid- not just pucker but actually make you want another sip. Really good stuff. Also, mencia with some souson, not what delectable says — 8 years ago
Experimental blend. Raul Perez — 10 years ago
A fine example of #bierzo #mencia from Raul Perez #oleimports — 11 years ago
My first wine from Niepoort/Perez from Bierzo , Godello at it’s best nose has a multi attitude to enjoy, taste is seduction of layers , finish a fresh experience of floor (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) this is elegant not like the rape on your tastebuds from Jura🇪🇸🥁 — 5 years ago
This sings...creamy salinity, florals, toasted brioche; long acid-washed palate. Another Perez winner. #raulperez — 6 years ago

@Delectable Wine this is the Rapolao cuvée. Have we been calling Perez a rock star for too many years now? Let’s just settle on “master”. This wine is refined, aromatic, balanced, and beautiful. And the other “crus” are even better. Forward! — 6 years ago
Elegant mencia, with deep berry, perfect acidity, plum, roses. Reminds me of top Burgundy! Kudos to Master Raul Perez👏👏 — 6 years ago
Love ,love, love that Senor Raul Perez has pulled a genius olfactory💐out of his 🎩. Piquant fleshy fruits of strawberries dominate the taste buds, while a bit of bitters is a welcoming aftertaste that I rather enjoy! — 7 years ago
Oxidated rich White La Patena, which unfortunately shows as red on Delectanle that does not allow me to correct it. This 2015, fresh complex with oxidated finish skmikar to jaune wine from the Jura is fantastic. Great with fish and brings this lemony acidity that to the aftertaste. Of course Raul Perez, the distinctive Spanish winemaker is responsible for this delight!! — 8 years ago
Great mencia. Lots of dark fruit, smooth and fresh — 11 years ago
Me encanta este vino, sincero, puro mencía y a buen precio. Bodega de Raúl Pérez, no hay más que decir. — 11 years ago

Like another reviewer noted—smells like old rioja. Delightfully dry. Leather, slate, star anise (gluhwein spices), vanilla, fantastic mid-palate, shorter lightly tannic finish. Another Perez winner. — 5 years ago
