Honeydew on the nose and initial palette, but chalky dry mid palette and lingering melon and white peach of the finish. Love this wine, very similar to a good Mosel Riesling — 9 years ago
Smells like fresh dark grapes! Skip the dessert and drink this! — 10 years ago
Balanced if I can say that for a late harvest dessert wine... (It was). The acid supported it's dance between alcohol and sugar. Beautiful nose. Sweet citrus and floral. What I call a 'honeymoon' wine. Perfect, goes quick. — 10 years ago
A little sweet — 10 years ago

First impression of the 2012 Grgich Hills Chardonnay—it's old-school and intense. Classic orchard fruit aromas are couched in flint and matchstick that hover like an electric storm over rather more tender notes of toasted walnut, brioche, and acacia honey. In the mouth, there's not an ounce of fat, it's lean with considerable energy and verve. There is smoothness, sure—but it's cleanly cut by lemon zest and white grapefruit pith, with minerally, toast notes emerging on the finish. 13.5% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
The best Chardonnay I've ever had...so yummy!!! — 10 years ago

Beautiful. Fragrant and delicious - apricots, white flowers, peach fuzz, Meyer lemon, prickly minerality and a hint of RS that adds to the ripe-ness. Love! — 10 years ago
