This is so sexy. A dark staining purple with wide edges. Showing a gorgeous nose of black cherries, moist earth, cassis, and fresh herbs. I could seriously just take this in all day, what a fabulous nose. What is this? I’m not used to a Napa Valley Mourvèdre quite like this. This baby is lean and mean. Sexy and sleek, this clocks in at 13.9 when I was expecting upwards of 15. But that’s not really what Newfound does. And of course, it’s that Mount Veeder fruit, as well. As youthful as this is it still shows nice refinement and complexity. The herbal elements add to the depth of this baby. Still so young but already so beautiful, this is such a fun wine. On the palate, wild strawberries and plums mix with smoke and more herbs. Minimal oak and a touch of spice on the medium to long finish. Outstanding. — 5 years ago

Drinks very well at room temperature. Newfound liking on this wine. — 11 years ago
Pretty good chard. Initially the lemon notes and the acidity were overpowering, after a couple of hours of aeration and ice cold temp the wine completely turned… Lemon and acidity were still there but brighter and less intense. Also some newfound minerals and even a slight sweet oak note on the finish. I was about the dismiss the whole bottle after the first glass, so glad I was patient and gave it another shot. — 4 years ago
Medium body. Fruit forward. Nice lush feel. — 5 years ago
My nose, christened by a small love that blooms, a wilted rose petal brought from necrosis and rigormortis by lust and love and sex, the sticky wonderful wetness of newfound joy, an amniotic state. What could be but this: a childish prodding, youth and the outward finger jabbing into the unknown. The wild known unknown, found loneliness, my absence from existence but a commodity of my lacking. The immediacy of a full life lived found in the reflected light of this aged sage. I am not worthy. — 8 years ago
My first sip of this wrapped my tongue in a bear hug and never let go. It was smooth, warm, and flavorful. I turned to my wife, in subtle surprise, and said, “what is this? I like it.” She said, “oh, yeah, it’s organic.” Well color me impressed and a newfound fan of this wine. — 4 years ago
Really cool expression, very red fruited and layered with grandma perfume, dried flowers and fern. Almost has an Italian personality to it that I cant put my finger on, the pleasant astringency is so nuanced and integrated, really cool. Always found Carignan to be its best with food, but this is so drinkable on its own. Excited to explore this producer more. — 6 years ago
This wine was offered as a tasting at my local liquor store and I knew I had to buy it. Crisp apple notes with a hint of citrus and a wonderful balance between sweet and dry, this wine is my favourite yet in my newfound love of wine. At only $13, this is an amazing value, except the bottle disappears so quickly 😂 — 8 years ago

Nice medium dark purple… amazing aroma of crushed strawberries, ripe blackberries, and a touch of savory rosemary. Medium weight, round, ripe, not jammy…nice hit of forest floor, crushed stone, and ‘shrooms. I’m not a huge Grenache-geek but this one works well primarily due to its restraint. I love everything I’ve tried from these guys. Nice to see Mendocino producing something remarkable apart from weed. — 3 years ago
