Always looking for new high-acid, Uniaked whites for summer... crisp, clean, med-weight...less than 200 cases.. perfect paring with grilled salmon and pickled blueberry sauce. Nice stoney/salty attack.. with a long, mineral finish. — 8 years ago
Fabulous!!! Christmas dinner with prime rib. marionberry fruit and white pepper and a warm spiciness - bit of nutmeg. New world/old world bridge kind of wine. — 8 years ago
Leans more toward Old World style than New World Syrah. Dark berries, hay, hint of smoke. Stylistically probably not for everyone (amongst Syrah lovers). — 9 years ago
Finally opening up. This 2010 can still keep many years but already holds its ground against the best burgundies. And still leaves any new world pinot wanting. — 9 years ago
Dark and tasty — 9 years ago
The summer seasonal made for a great gin tonic. — 10 years ago
Not the mess I've heard people commenting about, a nice cab but again not the big crazy new wold wine. If anything the flavors are a little muted, nice balance between acid, fruit and tannin — 10 years ago
Nice wine for the new year. — 10 years ago
A return to a more New Zealand style SB, this vintage has restrained lemon lime flavors and a light grassy finish. As always, excellent value and a versatile food wine. — 10 years ago

These grapes handled the 26 months in new French oak well. A sweet tobacco note on the nose. Great tannin structure on the palate with a great mix of dark fruit, vanilla, and earthy characteristics that leave you searching for descriptors. — 8 years ago
Why I love WA Bordeaux blends ! Moderate new oak. — 8 years ago
Right on the money with this Riesling! Straw in color and star bright. Nose was filled with lemon-lime, honeydew, Granny Smith apples, wild honey, citrus blossom, ginger, and new plastic pool toy aromas. The palate was extremely well balanced and the acidity was high and puckering. The tart lemon and lime flavors held through the finish. The finish was surprisingly long, and it was a nice medium-minus body. This Riesling provides a solid compliment to spicy sushi and spicy foods. It holds up strong and has a lot of backbone. All in all, this is your Riesling if you are looking for a refreshing, acidic, dry breath of fresh air. Instant favorite of mine! Washington dry Rieslings are spectacular. Cheers! — 9 years ago
Amazing wine my new favorite — 9 years ago
The 2012 Cab is an easy drinker. It's a perfect blend of fruit, oakie-ness and tannins. Very full bodied and full of flavor. Would have to say this is my new favorite. — 10 years ago
What. Fantastic wine and a prime example as to why WA state is surging with new recognition as the next great thing after OR foursome CA. Integrated with balance and complexity with a great nose and mouthfeel reminiscent of much older wines. I'm a buyer. — 10 years ago
Duckhorn Canvasback Cabernet Savignon Red Mountain 2012
Duckhorn's first WA venture with grapes from Red Mountain AVA in eastern Yakima Valley.
85% Cab Sauv & 15% Merlot
Notes of Cherries & Blueberries and would benefit from more time in the Cellar.
Aged 16 Months: 64% New barrels & 36% Neutral French Oak barrels — 10 years ago
A knockout at $10. Super dark and approachable fruits. Full bodied and dense. Easy to drink. This is a great party wine and my new daily drinker. — 10 years ago
Nice and bright. Excellent new world spin on on old world style blend. — 11 years ago
Rich crimson with a dark core. Not typical Cabernet descriptors as regards Bordeaux and The high quality areas in Australia. On the palate Black fruits like black berry and currant. Good Cabernet structure still with superb supple tannins. The fruit and oak typically intergrated. Bottom line delicious in a new world way. I think this Wine might have been a 💯 pointer from Parker. After about 2 hours the perfume had magnified into gorgeous aromas with the palate maintaining those silky smooth tannins. Very impressive. — 8 years ago
A Bordeaux blend. Spends 22 months in 70% new 400 liter oak barrels. Nose of fragrant floral fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum. Licorice, anise, dark chocolate and fresh, dark florals. The fruits are ripe and fresh and match the nose. Black licorice, tarry notes, loamy soils, moist dark soil, lead pencil, cedar, tobacco, underbrush, great acidity and a beautiful long finish. The structure is better as is the tension and length. This bottle needs 8-10 years in bottle for a higher score but for many hard not to dry young. Photos of the view from the Long Shadows patio, another one of the glass blown floor lamps and a concrete fermentation egg...interestingly in an inverted shape I hadn't seen before, no real difference in effect. — 8 years ago
New vintage. Quite nice, a bit more restrained and certainly a bit wound up. A little time in the bottle should fix that no problem. — 9 years ago
My new go-to $10 red. This was excellent for the price. Smooth and well balanced, with plenty of structure. Aromas were more complex than I expected, with a bit of smoke and burned toast layering over the dark fruits. Twenty second finish. Let it breath a little... it improved on the second day. — 9 years ago
Very good expression of restrained new world cab sav — 9 years ago
Big new world style fruit! Tons of dark cherry and blueberry with an herbaceous quality. Hints of tobacco and chocolate. Firm tannins with good structure. — 10 years ago
A new Red Mountain estate winery by Chris Upchurch of DeLille Cellars. This is their 2nd vintage, very polished, clean, needs a bit of time — 10 years ago
